  3. This is the first trailer for White House Down, which is the Armageddon to Olympus Has Fallen's Deep Impact. It comes out June 28. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Universal Soldier, Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 BC, 2012, and Anonymous). I think it looks pretty good! I really like all the silence playing during the second half of the trailer, though people have been reporting the actual film has a lot more humor in it than the trailer indicates. Emmerich has a spotty track record (and is a worse director than Antoine Fuqua, who directed Olympus Has Fallen, movie-for-movie) but this is his wheelhouse so who knows? Could be good.
  4. Jim Rome, a huge fan, apparently got the scoop. Full details via Slashfilm - "Here is what was revealed: Die Hard 5 will be titled A Good Day to Die Hard Shooting begins in January 2012 The sequel will be released on February 14th, 2013 (Valentine’s Day). The story is set in Russia and begins with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail for something he did, but when he gets there, things surrounding his son’s arrest are not as they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue. McClane, Jr. has yet to be cast. They still don’t know if it will be rated PG-13 or R." Hopefully it'll get an R rating again. I liked the 4th even with all the criticisms against it being too over the top so in theory I support the idea of a 5th one. However, I noticed this - John Moore (Max Payne, The Omen, Behind Enemy Lines) was chosen by Willis to direct. Skip Woods (Swordfish, Hitman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, A-Team) wrote the screenplay. Max Payne? X-Men Origins: Wolverine? That directing/writing combo really doesn't give me much faith in the project.
