Should schools reopen before the pandemic abates?

I dunno if I’ve said this before, but I’ve always been extremely happy to not be a parent. This just adds to my list of reasons.

It is sad to see all the teachers, support staff, and parents left in such a poor situation due to failures at nearly every level of leadership in education policy. 
 

We have always home schooled so the only difference for us this year is not having our normal in person co-op stuff on Mondays. But this hybrid/distance learning that the public schools are trying is like all the worst parts of public school and home school combined and none of the benefits. What a disaster.

It really sucks for teachers with children, especially in areas where they have to teach remotely.

I'm really glad my sister isn't teaching this year. I don't know what I'd do if I had school aged children
