skillzdadirecta
I couldn't get into the Metal Gear 4 OR 5... I plan on revisiting them at some point though.
gamer.tv
The Assassin's Creed games, specifically Origins. I found that although it was seen as a marked improvement over the previous iterations of the series, I just don't really like the style of game and would much prefer a more focused, cinematic approach over being overwhelmed. I don’t know why but origins didn’t overwhelm me. Oddyssey on the other hand is the definition of overwhelming

MGSV is an amazing game if you approach it differently than the previous titles. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the massively lowered emphasis on story and cutscenes. I understand the issues people have with it but it's still possibly some of the most fun I've had with a video game in the last few gens. I didn't get it at first coming off MGS 1 through 3, it's very different and more like Snake Simulator than you controlling a movie about Snake (or whatever his damn name is at this point) in a way. I never finished MGS4, hands down the worst one for me at the time and I lost interest halfway through. I need to give it another shot as well. I *think* I still like the gameplay fine, but everything else about it I remember I kinda hated it. Having to pre-load part(s) of the game into the PS3's internal memory before even beginning (and it took an hour or so? something like that) didn't really get me excited to play it, right from the start. All I remember is that the cutscene-to-gameplay ratio had crossed the line for me and I just stopped giving a shit and dropped it. I'm probably one of a dozen people out there who think this but I was actually relieved to find out MGSV basically just left me the hell alone. I love MGS1-3 but I didn't need the same game again and I thought the format was totally played out with MGS4.
GameDadGrant
Agreed. WAY too cut-scene heavy.

skillzdadirecta
I thought of another one recently that a lot of people like that I can't stand. Monster Hunter Ultimate. I like the concept and the graphics, but the actual gameplay? Yeah I can't stand that ish. Capcom seems to excel on creating these combat systems that gimp the player in stupid ways under the guise of "this is their style." Fuck that deliberately clunky game. You're not confined to crappy 3DS controls anymore.
