Not super hot on the emo MC but this looks fantastic! I recently got all my games on Playnite and even with all the humble bundles, Steam sales and free Twitch prime/EGS games I only had like one duplicate from the itch.io bundle for racial justice!

Have any of you played Lone Survivor?

I've always been interested in it and finally picked it up on some PSN deep sale for $1.99 or something. I was initially turned off a bit but I ended up getting sucked in and played about an hour last night and ended up really getting into it. It's a love letter to Silent Hill and Twin Peaks/Blue Velvet but definitely has its own ideas. The atmosphere is really claustrophobic. I'm excited to try more of it tonight.

Also played more Shadow Tactics if that qualifies as an Indie but holy shit that game is hard.

I've got it.  How long is it supposed to be?

I actually don't know anything about it at all, just knew it was 2D Survival Horror. It's definitely an eccentric, claustrophobic little game so far but it's very intriguing and I like surreal shit in general.

Ok, Lone Survivor is officially a really cool game as far as I'm concerned, just takes time to get used to initially because it's very different. Also it's actual Survival Horror as in stocking up on food and finding cooking utensils etc. is part of the gameplay loop.

I've mentioned this game a lot in other threads already but thought I'd throw it in here.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. This is an absolute must-play and one of my favorite games in the last few years possibly, which have already been filled with great games. I honestly think it's a masterpiece. It's not without some small janky faults but overall it just absolutely nails what it goes for and above all, it's incredibly fun. I'm not sure I've ever gone for three times consecutive playthrough in a game other than RE2 Remake recently. I haven't put it down at all and what seemed crushingly difficult at first, I'm now beating in style on Hardcore difficulty, which I thought looked insane at first.

I really love this game and think some of you would really dig it as well.

I've had it on steam for quite some time, unplayed of course. If you'd like to be like me it's $4 on steam for 2 more hours!

Give it a shot. It's one of those games I booted up to just 'check out for a minute' and ended up dropping everything else for because I got completely sucked in.

So I remembered the La-Mulana games yesterday, or rather the first one and realized there's even a sequel now.

They both look super appealing but all I remember is hearing that the first one was incredibly difficult and basically required a guide. Anyone have experience with these? I hate having to cheat so if it's truly that brutal I might steer clear but wanted to get some impressions.

La Mulana feels like an NES game in its difficulty.  It’s very unforgiving.  But also arguably more cryptic than other NES Metroidvanias.

I wasn’t a fan.  Not fun enough to stick with, IMO.

Yea the more I read, the more I just wrote it off. Sounds annoying.
