Congrats buddy. Demon's Souls is a must, Astro's Playroom is worth your time, and grab some of the PS+ Collection that you haven't played before (Persona 5 is my jam right now). Ignore the haters.

Shout out to the Sony CS rep I called the other week after some warehouse worker mailed me a refurbished PS5 loosely wrapped in bubble wrap and informed me they'd be filing a complaint on my behalf.  I'm pretty sure they mailed me a brand-new one this time.  It was in its retail box without the outer artwork shell or accessories.  Upon booting it up, I couldn't even hear the fan spinning when it was in the main menu and the disc drive on this one is more around the volume of the drive in my PS4.  Astrobot, you had to stick your ear up to the console to hear a faint buzz, and Descenders, which has a title screen with an uncapped frame rate, causing my prior consoles to sound like a steam kettle going off doesn't make a sound on this unit.  This surprised me the most.  Relieved to finally have a PS5 again, but I do wish I had a way to give the CS rep I spoke with positive feedback for putting in the effort to ensure was shipped properly. 

 

On a side note, my original PS5 was made in September, and my first replacement was made in November.  Both of those had a strong coil whine.  I replaced it originally because my launch model kept having graphical artifacts and crashed constantly.  The one I received from Sony today was made in December.  Kinda curious to learn if Sony is using a different disc drive now as it's a pretty drastic change in decibels from my original.

How do you check manufacturing date?

Uhhhh I've had the PS5 set up vertically since early January and kept wondering why the fuck it makes me insert discs 'upside down'

The fine print on the image says not eligible for the upgrade.
