I can confidently say after playing Astrobot for a while that haptics are definitely a step up from the switch.  It’s like a much weightier and more directional version of the haptics in the Vive.
 

The adaptive triggers though are easily the more impressive bit.  Feel great, can put up a lot of resistance, and can simulate a wide range of sensations.

Not having one yet is my own fault.  I didn't pay attention to the release news all year because I just assumed I'd be doing a campout like I always do (I never pre-order consoles because the launch day campout is too fun) and by the time I realized how they were handling the launch it was too late. 

 

Got all the sites on auto-refresh but...my guess is I won't have one until December unless someone lucks into an extra and sells it to me.

it wouldnt have mattered unless you were glued to the internet. if you watched their showcase - they never announced when pre-orders were going up. then in a tweet an hour or so later, they said it would be the next day. the big retailers proceeded to just arbitrarily release pre-orders whenever the fuck they felt like that same day (instead of next) causing mass hysteria, websites crashing and other fucking nonsense that shouldn't exist in 2020. 

 

yes, im still salty about it.

Since yesterday, the Sony direct website said there will be stock today. The website hasn't changed at all yet. Not sure what time they are going live.

I thought we had gotten to a point where people could manage lining up. I was wrong.

Oof, yeah.  Frankly I blame Sony more than anyone else.  They should've had a standard console launch and let the retailers handle COVID precautions rather than do the whole pre-order/online only nonsense.  Enforce line distancing and masks.  Give out numbers to keep people out of line.  When the store opens only let one person in at a time.  There's no reason they couldn't have just done a standard launch.  Instead we get the web-crashing bot fest. :|

or - just let me pre-order from the retailer i want...and ship them out on a first come first serve basis. so even if  dont make launch day, maybe ill get the 3rd or 4th restock shipment or something.

a pleasant surprise for me is that i just discovered i had $35 sitting in my PS wallet...and Miles Morales digital covers both PS4 and PS5. So my son will be super thrilled when I tell him he can play it over the weekend...and when I finally get a PS5 - ill be all set.

Hellllllll yeah, I'm loving these free remastered upgrades. Honestly this and load times are the best part about next-gen.

Yeah, this really is fantastic and what's pulling me in. 

 

I know it won't happen because From just refuses to in any way address Bloodborne but if somehow a patch for that came out, I'd weep tears of joy. Sekiro and Dark Souls III are already confirmed to run at a rock-steady 60 FPS.

With the rumors of Sony purchasing Blue Point I'm thinking Bloodborne remaster will be their next project.

Just got the initial setup done and downloading Demons Souls and Spiderman MM. So far I like the UI, and I like how it clearly tells you how many hours you've played each game. Way better than how xbox does it, unless it changed with the XSX and I just didn't notice it. 

 

While I think the XSX will be primary going forward, It's nice that I have exclusive stuff to play on the PS5 instead of just prettier versions of games.

YES!!!!! MINE JUST ARRIVED!!!!

 

Had enough time to get through the inital set up and start DLing Demon Souls before I had to leave to pick my son up from work and make one delivery for work. Then I gotta go to my moms for her birthday. So selfish of her to have a birthday today. 
 

Odds of less than 3 hours of sleep tonight? 100%
