Pretty fucking good... been fighting this chumps since Friday.

I remember this fight, among several in that game, re-teaching me what it means to BEAT a boss. Shit like legit taking days, or a week, of attempts and practice to finally make a great run and smash it. Great stuff.

Yeah it was really just about me changing up my equipment. I was underarmored and once I equipped the right armor with the right kind of rings, the fight was cake. I've heard that these guys and Capra Demon are the toughest bosses in the game? Want to try and put this game to bed this week.

I'd say O&S are the most notorious yea. Gave me the most trouble for sure in DS1.

My first two attempts at playing through Dark Souls, I got completely stuck on them to the point that I had to put the game away for 6+ months, then come back and start fresh with a new game. When I finally beat them on the third attempt, I strolled through the rest of the game with relative ease.

I've been playing Ocarina of Time exclusively.  I am working my way through the Forest Temple, after just having transformed into adult Link.  I'm really enjoying the game, and I think I finally understand why it's so highly regarded.  That being said, I've had to look at a guide multiple times because I get lost frequently.  Lots of the puzzles are logical and rewarding to figure out, but other things are frustratingly obtuse.  For example, in the Forest Temple, one of the keys that you need is hidden on a log way up the wall before you even enter the front door.  I can see how they've streamlined the game design in the later entries to avoid this kind of frustration.  When I was younger and had all the time in the world, I can see how I would have loved exploring every inch of the map and wouldn't have minded the occasionally puzzling roadblocks, but as an adult with severely limited time for games, I am finding that I will ultimately have to rely on a walkthrough to get through the game.  I'll pick up Wind Waker after I finish this one.

Finished Yoku's Island Express (trying to decide if I will try and 100% it).  It was a truly lovely palette cleanser:

1)  Combining Pinball and Metroidvania created a truly unique experience

2)  The art style and music created a great atmosphere -- both were top notch!

3)  Some of the secrets (and learning the techniques to solve them) was truly inventive!

4)  Game was the perfect length (~5 hours) so the game mechanics didn't overstay their welcome

However, it wasn't perfect:

1)  The game is very easy -- there are no "fail states" -- and the pinball is a little more simplistic than I would like

2)  The decision to use speech bubbles rather than voice-acting the characters is disappointing.  It really hurt the atmosphere of the game.

Breakpoint..

outside of the micro transaction crap... the biggest problem is the gameplay loop is too small and dull..

the elite enemies the wolves just spawn and bullet sponge their way in.. and their music cue (a bad sicario ripoff) is annoying..

that being said there are gameplay elements here that would have made Wildlands amazing

put in some more time with Borderlands 3. I beat the game a couple of days ago but I'm trying to hit level 50 and max out all the ammo capacity as well as trying to find anything I've missed. Some of the maps are driving me crazy. It'll say I've uncovered 90-96% and yet for the life of me I can't seem to  figure out what I am missing.

Destiny 2 and Divinity 2

I started Divinity 2 on story mode because I've never really played a game of this caliber. Story mode is way to easy though. I steam rolled through everything, even without any kind of strategy. So I started over which kind of sucked, but whatever.

Even though I've beaten the game and maxed out the storage/ammo capacity for my character I am sure I'll fire up Borderlands 3 again today. I'm trying to 100% all the maps and read all the alien panels or whatever they are called, but damn if all the anointed bastards are making it a pain in the butt! And I will definitely mess again more with Ring Fit Adventure.
