we're gonna start on the Borderlands 2 DLC  that just released

Not sure if your a big fan of the previous games but the writing/story in this new DLC is pretty bottom of the barrel and if you havent played the Tales game your likely to enjoy it even less.

Of course I'm a fan of the series, otherwise I wouldn't be playing this DLC. :p

I don't care about the writing so much, I just want to play the game. And we played through the TellTale game, if that's what you're referring to.

Sounds like you play co op ?

I can see it be being much more enjoyable that way.

Fired up Fallout 76 this morning since its F2P this weekend. My character progression carried over from the beta, which is cool i guess. I ran around for about 1/2hr. World felt empty and lifeless. As far as I could tell, there was only 3-4 other people in my instance. I realized I really don’t have an interest in playing this game at all. Maybe after the sept update I’ll try again.

Then I fired up mudrunner. Disappointed that I can’t just play this game how I want like with spin tires. Also doesn’t seem like mods are available for it. I just want to rock crawl with a Hilux. I don’t want to play a logging sim.

Then I Started A Plague Tale today. Just ran the first chapter. Beautiful graphics. Gameplay is a bit dull and basic, but I’m ok with that. After playing a massive game like Witcher 3, a short linear game with a good story is exactly what I’m looking for. Almost getting a TLOU vibe from the game.  I’m hoping to really dive in over this week.

Also fired up BFV to check out the new map, mode and guns. Still a mess of a game but the new map is big, beautiful and allows for a basically any type of play style. Overall a  pretty fun map. I’m really enjoying that new medic rifle that also has a nade launcher for alternate fire.

Dragon Quest Builders came in the mail finally from Target. Game takes a bit longer to jump in from what I remembered, but I'm still having fun.

Still grinding Destiny 2, gotta get ready for Iron Banner next week.

Probably going to download Bioshock Infinite and play the DLC (finally)

My thirst for a shooter finally wore me down and I bought Doom 2016 and am giving it another fair shot. I still semi-hate it as the franchise's new direction but the gameplay is fun now that my elitism isn't getting in the way as much.

The one thing I still can't get over is the bizarre sound mix. Everything sounds subdued, weak and like I have a towel over my speakers. Enemies barely make recognizable noises outside of the basic Possessed and hit detection is non-existent. I keep suddenly sitting at like 30 health without any fucking idea how I got there. I've played quite a few modern FPS where this is the case and I can't wrap my head around it.

That being said, I had a lot of fun last night and ended up playing for a good two hours before bed.

So I never knew if you did all the optional Thieves Guild shit in Skyrim you got merchants inside the guild and your fences increase the gold they carry by a lot. Almost making me want to start a new character and get this shut done right away as it makes all those selling your loot runs so much easier.

Has anyone here played The Last Door? That indie/pixely Point & Click Horror title? It looks really cool just haven't seen much about it.

I think I got it from a Humble Bundle or something a while ago. I played a little bit of it. I was intrigued by its style, but that type of point n click adventure game just really doesn’t do it for me, so I didn’t get far (I think I finished the first “episode”).

Totally helpful insight, I know.

I just started playing Far Cry 5.  Man, it's beautiful.  Story is typical Far Cry craziness so far.  I'm just not sure I'm loving the gameplay as much as 3/4.

I realized by the time I got to 5, I was kinda burned out on the series. I mean, I still had some fun and I finished it, but I was left with feeling overly full of FC for a good long while. I didn't get the most recent game/expansion/spinoff/whateveryoucallit.

I never played Primal, and haven't played the most recent spinoff either.  I played the first couple of hours in FC5 primarily with a pistol, and just headshotted everyone.  So far, stealth hasn't seemed to be the priority it was in the earlier games.  The puzzle element of taking over a base undetected seems to be largely gone.

I'm only ~3 hours in -- so things may change.

Oh, yeah, I completely skipped over Primal. Seemed like I just wasn't ready for more FC after beating 4 and Primal looked mediocre.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fun series, but sometimes I suffer from open world burnout.
