What are you playing today?

Recommended Posts

I litteraly spent an hour at a particular section in Halo Reach. It was utter chaos with an all out war with vehicles and ships above. I'm only playing on the normal difficulty but I was dieing in every possible way. I eventually got past it but had to hang it up there. I'm close to beating it and it's really good stuff.

I’ve just beaten the Ginso Tree in Ori and the Blind Forest. Nothing like dying 40 times to make something feel  satisfying. I’m definitely enjoying my recent switch gaming, though with the dark nights and games coming out, the PS5 will have to get a look in soon!

Halo Reach has my favorite campaign in the franchise too and it isn’t even close. ODST is also really good.

I tried ODST and it really didn't grab me. I don't think I gave it enough time though.

Reach is hard to rate, I agree it is my favorite campaign.. but its by virtue of being the most solid

it doesnt have the level highs and scale of Halo 3, but it also avoids the real bad lows as well (butthole simulator level).

The story is as good as Halo 2, but the framing of it as a military campaign and the fact that its complete helps it edge Halo 2

Assassins Creed 2…

Having gone from completing Origins, and Unity I decided to now pick up Ass Creed 2

The control quirks from game to game going back to 2 is rough…. Fortunately I still have my old campaign complete file from 2016. So I will complete the last 3 Assassins tombs (those are amazing) and max out that file.

The surprising overall lack of color in the game is always a little surprising…

I did play through the early missions on a new file, I must admit Creed 2 does a better way in motivating you to go after the targets, in Origins, and Unity they tell you targets are horrible people but never really show it

Different tastes, I suppose. I felt it had those highs. Like going to space and infiltrating and destroying a Covenant ship. A big thing for me too was the evolving tone, conveyed in many ways, but none more in your face than the skybox becoming more and more apocalyptic. The mission flying across the city from one building to another where it looks like the sky is on fire really sticks out to me. But I really liked the sense of how desperate and dire the tone and nature of the missions kept getting. We weren’t just being told the threat, we could see it.

May as well share what I’m playing. On Fridays my friends and I are playing Remnant 2’s last DLC, and then back to Space Marine 2 for bit.

To play on my own I just bought FFXVI. Rather enjoying it. I am treating it more like I am going through and interactive tv series. There are a lot of cutscenes, but they are so well rendered and animated that I don’t care. I’ve been playing about an hour a night, not unlike a tv show. Which it does seem like somebody at Square-Enix watched Game of Thrones, was a big fan, and said “we could make a FF GOT”. the game is not difficult so far and is very linear, in many ways reminding me of FFX. And honestly I am ok with all that too.

I'm in the semi finals in NBA 2K25 with my Fever. I cannot for the life of me beat the New York Liberty. I make sure to quit out before the game is final so that I don't lose my entire season. But on superstar difficulty you have to litteraly play a perfect game to win.

Lost again by 3 points. I've played probably 15 games now and changed up defensive strategies. I just cannot stop one player who hits 5 or so 3's a game.

It's borderline cheating on the cpu level.

Lol fuck this bullshit. They made Sabrina Ionescu absolutely unstoppable in this game. Even when double teamed she pulls up for 3's like she is wide open. This may be my limit in challenging myself with the difficulty.

Time to get some flagrant fouls in to knock her out of the game.

I think I have to give up in trying to beat the New York Liberty on superstar difficulty.

I've tried at least 15 times and just can't do it. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu are just unfairly good in this.

Got the Ice Arrows in Great Bay Temple.

When I first fought Wart, I used Arrows to get rid of the eggs that protect him, but I discovered that the Hookshot is more efficient, because 1) It doesn't run out, and 2) I just have to grab one of his eggs and slash it to get rid of it.

I'm not playing it cuz the game is kinda shit, but there's this game called Silent Breath that has a unique way of displaying realistic graphics that is interesting to see. Like, you could kinda fool yourself into thinking it was real. I can't really recommend it, but the visuals are neat.
