Play as a gorgeous female wanted-criminal Faye. Utilize her grappling hook and acrobatics to fight enemies and traverse the ocean-engulfed planet Bluestar! (This game has steep learning curve, play with caution)

Please come to PS4.

Wife is working from home downstairs and daughter is asleep upstairs, so instead of doing something useful with my time (putting some things in the attic and changing our bedding), I’ve plugged in our N64 and finished a mission on Perfect Dark. I might give this a go, 21 years after I last played it properly.

Update: playing on Agent so I’ve finished three missions in about 20 minutes but, this objective based gameplay with tight levels still holds up. Even though there have been two escort parts so far, because the AI is wank (at least on agent) it’s been fine.

Just Cause 4.

Could the open world design be better? Absolutely. That said how many other games let you hijack a tank and blow shit up before grappling onto a helicopter that you just tethered an enemy soldier to which you then hijack and use to dogfight other aircrafts for ten minutes before jumping out, parachuting and hijacking one of those same aircrafts in mid air?

Anywho it's boring tbh, 6.5/10

So you're going back and forth between this and TLOU2? Both amazing games and so completely different so that's a good mix.

Yea sort of. DS has been on the backburner while I'm hooked on TLOU2 but I'm still popping in. Very different but both have very satisfying mechanics and weighty movement and feel overall...I dunno I feel a very slight parallel there once in a while. I do think TLOU2 was inspired by MGSV though so that'd make some vague sense.

Tried a mission on Perfect Dark twice and died. I mean, I know I’m bad at games but this is just a little sad.

Update: did the mission, then the next after about 5 minutes of gameplay and 15 wandering around (a trope of the generation I don’t miss much) and the one after. I felt like I was on a role so did one where I had to disable a weapon, had a time limit finish, though I had to follow the alien wanker, he went too slow, we both died, mission over. I don’t have the patience to restart right now, but will when everyone gets snoozy later in.

Since I had the time, I started Spiderman and I’m really enjoying it. Normally I dislike everything about this type of game (look out points to find, stupid amount of things to do), but the IP really helps keep it ticking over. So it looks like I’ll be doing something I hate, that being a few games on the go at the same time.

Update: had a spare 30 minutes so did two more missions in Perfect Dark. Two more to go!

On chapter 13 of 16 in Guardians of the Galaxy. 9/10 game and I'm extremely impressed.

That's a game that I seriously had no interest in. At all.   Every gameplay trailer looked dull to me, but now I'm willing to try it.   I'm genuinely surprised by how well received it is.

Absolutely play it. It starts off a bit slow but it gets extremely good. I'm really impressed.

Playing some more Sonic Colorz today and Starlight Carnival is a fantastic Sonic boost style level! It’s a greatest hits type Sonic level which I love.

I can see how this might be better than Generations but have a lot to go still. Mostly because I prefer mixing side scrolling and 3D segments within the levels rather than separated like generations and forces. Keep full side scrolling levels for a Mania 2. Sonic Lost World does it this way too and that part of it also works.

I also like how there aren’t a bunch of fortress or laboratory type levels, those are my least favorite it Sonic and having too many of them is the biggest flaw of Mania for me. I like my Sonic levels crazy bright and colorful and both Colors and Lost World are great with this.

Really curious how Frontiers ends up, it’s going to be the most radical main series change since Adventure. I hope the cg trailer doesn’t match the look too much because while it wasn’t a fortress, generic UE4 forrest look isn’t my favorite either. Curious how they handle environment variety if it’s full on open world, I hope it’s not all Green Hill Zone now. And if it is I hope it at least looks like Green Hill Zone. Man it might be such a disaster but I think it’s the game I can’t wait the most to see real gameplay of.

I do like boost style Sonic though. There have been a lot of trash ones or ones that are kind of half and half depending on the level, but when it’s good I do love it. I hope even if Frontiers is a success they find room to try a couple more of this style.

Hunt: Showdown

Or well, I tried. Bought it on sale since I always wanted to give online shooters another shot. I just...don't get it at all and realized there's a reason I don't play games like this for the millionth time.

The matchmaking wait times, the fact playing solo is basically impossible, me having zero clue how actual hunts are supposed to play out despite doing hours of training missions. After a few hours of aimlessly running around the gigantic map getting headshotted randomly I remembered why I simply don't have the time for shit like this.

Edit: I wanna give this another shot. Ill make a thread see if anyone else is playing this on here

I tried playing it also because I actually like every other Cryrek game I think. Nah. I hope they do a new single player game some day. Crysis 2 Remaster is so fucking good.

Getting further in Sonic Colors and yeah this is some good Sonic. It’s just weird how there are some levels that are like almost nothing. Like 50 second to the exit and you kind of wonder why they bothered. They aren’t bad, it’s just kind of weird next to the other long fantastic levels. Some of them I can see are used more for exploring and getting the red coins as color powers get added to stages you previously played but there is also not really much incentive to get the red rings for the main game so it seems odd.

I really gotta say I’m happy with the pc port too, especially after hearing of some issues on last gen systems and switch (and ps5 being stuck at 1440p), haven’t had any issues. Just constant locked 120fps at native 4k. Haven’t had any stutter or bugs or anything it’s pretty much perfect. Not that it should be hard for this game, but ya know.

Played a little Forces on PC and having beaten it on Switch I didn’t realize that it actually is quite a nice looking game, i thought it was more paired down from Generations. There is so little game in that though I don’t know what the hell happened between even Lost World and that game. They seemed to at least finally be on the right track after Generarions and Colors, and at least admirably tried to invent in Lost World, and then somehow Forces is what is released along side the amazing Mania. And the only Sonic game all gen! There’s like 5 minutes of 3D Sonic in Forces. I’m not sure I’m even exaggerating, there’s a video showing off how little there is.

So that means you're listening to the GOAT Sonic song now?

Was doing some cleaning and found my OG copies of Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider 2 and Silent Hill.  Now I'm contemplating pulling the PS1 out of the closet.

You'll regret it. Tomb Raider hasn't aged well at all but Silent Hill might still be spooky. I couldn't handle the disgusting visuals, though.

Playing Tomb Raider Anniversary is better than playing Tomb Raider 1 OG.

I'm watching Jan play Silent Hill on Giant Bomb and I think it's lost some of it's luster since I played it back in the day. :p  @best3444 hatin' on the cabbage boys

Thinking of whether to buy Far Cry 6 or Guardians of the Galaxy (or both) in the EGS sale.

I’m playing Far Cry 6 now, and it’s really good. It’s the best in the series since Far Cry 3 IMO. The game world is large, and packed with a variety of things to do in it. Don’t skip the side content as a lot of it is just as good if not sometimes even better than the main content, especially the treasure hunts. The gunplay is visceral, and it’s always fun making things go boom!
