It seems that the board software doesn't handle the TikTok embedding particularly well.

This is something I'll have to raise with the developers.

You should thank them

It's embedded, but as you can see it just doesn't look correct at all.

I edited the post in a way that allowed the embed to fully populate, but at least on my end it just doesn't look "good".

That's just how TikToks look.

It's really frustrating that governments don't put out data natively in /100k format, etc. Each day my province (admittedly occupied and run by dumbfucks) puts out stats showing what % of new cases are vaxxed, etc, and it's always in a format like:

  • Unvaxxed - 75%
  • Partially vaxxed - 8%
  • Fully vaxxed - 17%

And then all the people who don't understand stats start saying "hur hur, why are the fully vaccinated more likely to catch it than partially vaccinated?"

It's because there are like 15x more fully vaxxed than partial! If you break it down per /100k it's like:

  • 85%
  • 10%
  • 5%

  • True 2

So apparently the CDC says you qualify if your BMI is 25 or more, which means they're including people who are overweight and not just obese. And as of 2017-2018 a whopping 73.6% of the US population 20 or older had a BMI 25 or older.

Also keep in mind that people can qualify now based on a much broader range of industries that they may work in. That's how I got mine:

Examples of workers who may get Pfizer-BioNTech booster[ 1 ] shots

  • First responders (e.g., healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)
  • Education staff (e.g., teachers, support staff, daycare workers)
  • Food and agriculture workers
  • Manufacturing workers
  • Corrections workers
  • U.S. Postal Service workers
  • Public transit workers
  • Grocery store workers

1 List could be updated in the future

Someone at work just sent me an email about a conference that's potentially relevant to the project we're working on together.

The conference is in Florida. So yeah that's gonna be a hard no from me, no fucking way am I going to Florida while COVID's still running rampant.

The Ontario government will allow businesses such as restaurants, bars and fitness centres to start lifting COVID-19 capacity limits starting on Monday, a senior government source has told CBC News.
Quote

Oct. 25: The province will lift capacity limits in the majority of settings where proof of vaccination is required including restaurants, indoor sports facilities and gyms, casinos, bingo halls and indoor meeting and event spaces. Personal care services like barber shops and salons can also do away with capacity limits if they require proof of vaccination.

Nov. 15: The government plans to lift capacity limits in remaining higher-risk settings where proof of vaccination is required, including night clubs, wedding receptions in spaces where dancing is involved, strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs.

Jan. 17: Assuming the holidays don't contribute to any "concerning trends," the plan is to lift capacity limits in places where proof of vaccine is not required. At the same time, proof of vaccine requirements may also be lifted for restaurants, bars and sports facilities.

Feb. 7: The province plans to lift proof of vaccine requirements in high-risk settings including night clubs, strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs.

March 28: Ontario plans to lift mask-wearing requirements in indoor public spaces, as well as remove proof-of-vaccine requirements for all remaining settings. Capacity limits and public health measures could be re-introduced at local levels to manage COVID-19 as needed.

I wish they would go faster...

To be fair, look what happened in AB and SK when they went faster...our ICUs are basically collapsing. SK is transferring 2-3 people per day to Ontario's ICUs.

Hey, the federal contractor vaccine mandate finally hit my office. I think this is the first time I've used my vaccine card for anything. I really should schedule a booster now that it's approved. There was a new booster clinic opened up just a few minutes from home. I forgot I got my J&J shot all the way in early March.

My phone autocorrected that to J&J shit and now I'm imagining @sblfilms saying that wasn't incorrect.

The number of Americans getting coronavirus vaccine boosters is outpacing the number of those getting their first vaccine shots, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Does Premier= Governor?

Basically. They are the leader of the party who wins the provincial election, so aren't directly elected. But they lead the executive. In Canada you will never have the provincial leader be of a different party than the legislature (and there is only a single legislature in each province).

Yeah lets not. BC, AB & SK have all been a shit show because they dropped mask mandates far too quickly. We're so better off because we didn't rush into stupidity (again) for a change.

Our ICUs are basically collapsing thanks to our conservative, dumb premier. We're shipping out 2-4 patients per day to other provinces, and now this:

Meanwhile, the premier won't bring in new restrictions.

It's so petty that your Premier was off asking for help from the US when the federal government told them they will gladly help out as soon as they ask. Now after wasting so much time, because nobody else would help, they finally caved.

The cloth masks that most people are wearing do very little.  We are currently having a pandemic among the unvaccinated in Canada.

I'm done with restrictions on the vaccinated that are intended on keeping the unvaccinated out of the hospitals.

I could've told you that. How many protesters were there? Didn't look like many. Also i wonder how many folks who are trying to turn Kyrie into Colin Kapernick know that this mofo thinks the Earth is flat... or did at one point. Not sure if he reversed that.

He claims now it was just a joke…but the clips where he made the claim initially don’t seem at all jokey to me. Feel like his genuine thoughts at the time. But the guy obviously has some issues, so who knows at any given point what he truly believes?
