Nah. Five guys has decent fries at least.

The fries criticism of Shake Shack I can understand, but calling their patty unseasoned is objectively wrong. Maybe it’s a Utah thing? A Shack Shack patty has 690 mg sodium. If anything, it’s arguably overseasoned.

I only had Shake Shack once. And it was in Atlanta four years ago. The experience was so bad I'm never going to another SS again. Too many great burger options in Utah to bother with them again.

Sorry to detail from food...

The document captures the struggle of the nation’s top public health agency to persuade the public to embrace vaccination and prevention measures, including mask-wearing...

Quote

vaccinated people who became infected with delta shed just as much virus as those who were not vaccinated. The slide references an outbreak in Barnstable County, Mass., where vaccinated and unvaccinated people shed nearly identical amounts of virus.

Quote

Genetic analysis of the outbreak showed that people who were vaccinated were transmitting the virus to other vaccinated people. The person said the data was “deeply disconcerting” and a “canary in the coal mine” for scientists who had seen the data.

Quote

“In some sense, vaccination is now about personal protection — protecting oneself against severe disease. Herd immunity is not relevant as we are seeing plenty of evidence of repeat and breakthrough infections.”

tl;dr: herd immunity may not be possible. The R0 of Delta may be higher than chicken pox (10-12), and with fully vaccinated able to catch and spread, combined with breakthrough cases, it may be impossible to reach a point where it stops spreading.

That's the bad news. The good news is that it should become less severe as everyone gets it (also are vaccinated). But assuming it stays this contagious, it's like a flu that everyone gets over and over, but 5 to 10x as contagious.

I stand by my earlier prediction: every child in North America (likely the world) will catch this within the next year. I just hope that the possible long-term effects on cognition don't hold for children.

Imagine a bunch of hacks who get hard / wet arming themselves to the teeth thinking a mask mandate is tyranny. I’ve had poached eggs that are less smooth than their brains I swear to Christ.

Just imagine if Biden was the first president currently trying to pass a law that cars must have brakes. They'd be against it.

There's a classic tweet along the lines of:

Modern day Republicans in the 1950s: WAIT, you want us to pay for a fire department that puts out OTHER peoples fires. That's socialism!
