~*Official #COVID-19 Thread of Doom*~ Revenge of Omicron Prime

Recommended Posts

My client's husband was released from the hospital last night.  They suspect he contracted it from an Uber ride and he took a rapid turn for the worse last Tuesday (day 13) and was put in the ICU.  The doctors thought they would have to put him on a ventilator but his condition stabilized so that was narrowly avoided.  His recovery is gonna be along one though.

So a press release was put out saying borris Johnson is stable and doesn't have pneumonia, if that's true why the fuck is he in an icu still lol.

All "stable" means is that his condition is not deteriorating.   That does not mean that he doesn't require "intensive care" for reduced oxygen capacity.

The reason he has low oxygen is his lungs aren't functioning properly because he has pneumonia, lol.

How old is he and what makes them suspect the Uber ride specifically? Was the driver showing signs of illness?

Like the drug is actually being used, and there doesn't seem to be any evidence that it works, money is the only reason any of it makes sense, lol.

Some of the research—and confusion—stems from Professor Didier Raoult in France, whose work has resulted in both enthusiasm and skepticism around the medicines. In a Los Angeles Times column, writer Michael Hiltzik outlined flaws. In one of Raoult's studies, for example, six patients dropped out in the first six days; those patients either died, were transferred to the ICU, couldn't tolerate the drug, or dropped for another reason.

"Those six results, however, were not included in the results, meaning that Raoult 'cured' only 100% of those who didn’t get sicker, die, or leave the study," Hiltzik wrote.

Many call the fight against the new coronavirus unlike any other health crisis they have faced in their careers. In the words of one doctor, it is “unprecedented and dire.” Another wrote on Twitter, “I survived Ebola. I fear #Covid-19.” Amid the alarm, doctors and nurses have recounted extraordinary efforts among their colleagues to pull together and find creative ways to care for the sick under difficult circumstances.

Some medical professionals have also turned to the internet to voice frustrations with the government response to the pandemic, highlighting shortages of critical supplies and protective gear, and calling on policy makers to take speedier and more drastic action.

The Wall Street Journal is gathering and sharing some of those dispatches here, lightly edited for clarity, to show how U.S. health workers are directly addressing the public about the crisis.
