I actually don't have it installed right now but could get back into next week or so if some people are interested? I forgot how the online works but can you make a specific room with only invited people? Like a D1P room?

PS: I'm on PS4 if it matters

I think I remember you can choose which platforms you'd like to be able to play with. You can choose either PS4, PC, or both I think to search for online matches.

Oh cool, PS4 players can play against PC players? Nice. Usually Sony isn’t so open with cross-platform play.

I have the game and an arcade stick but rarely play it. I have it on PS4.

Same here. I pop on when they release a new character. Play a few rounds then don't go back. lol

Oh, right. I guess I should mention that I also have it on PS4, not PC. Not sure if that matters?

I hate buying games for PS4, but Capcom forced my hand with this one.

Why do you hate buying games for PS4??

As was described above, yes. It's primarily because I greatly prefer portable gaming over console/PC gaming. I travel too often nowadays that it makes spending money on those kind of games a kind of waste of money. Not because the games or the systems they are on are BAD (they're not)...it's just that I won't play them. And again, not because of lack of desire, just lack of...availability. On my part.

My recent Twitter posts should surely confirm my claims, haha (also shameless plug for my Twitter):

Also, I find Switch games just to be better overall.

It's easier to carry around Switch cartridges in cases or bags.

Often times there are Collector's Editions of games that aren't available on other systems.

Switch games are often better deals, like more content is included, DLC included, and/or enhanced features.

Game performance is often pretty much the same across all platforms, or is negligible. A small sacrifice for portability.

Most of my friends own Switch so it's always easier for multiplayer games to get the Switch version.

I also get a "kick back" when buying Switch games, thanks to the "my.nintendo" program. I can get games at a discount (or free!) thanks to the credit I build there.

The online is a better deal, since I don't see much different in performance during online games (and yeah, I know that's a controversial statement, but it's honestly been my experience) and the extra cost of a PSN subscription is kind of absurd to me.

Just my thoughts, though! I've been let down by Sony a lot recently as well, so I'll admit I'm a bit sour about the Playstation brand in general. But that's just me being a little salty. I'm sure I'll get over it when a great PS4 exclusive comes out (looking forward to the FF7 remake!).

It's all good.

But these things are very much not true.

Oh?

I'll admit, I don't pay an enormous amount of attention to PS4 games. But I was under the impression things like Dragonball Xenoverse 2 on Switch having the entire first game included was unique. And Dragon Quest 11's "8-bit" mode and fully orchestrated music was unique to the Switch "definitive" version. And the upcoming Samurai Shodown bundled with the NGPC Samurai Shodown! 2 was also exclusive. And so on. If all that is also available for PS4, I withdraw my statements.

I should also mention I've never been a big fan of the Dual Shock controller. Like, the entire industry has non-parallel analog sticks. Except Playstation. Booo.

Anyway, I know these are not popular opinions (facts?) since I know this forum is fairly "pro-Playstation" so I'll withdraw from this conversation. As you say, it's all good. Peace. :)

Xenoverse 2 has in-engine missions that from what I can tell mimic the missions from the first game, but the original game itself is not included. And apparently you can only play those missions after you've gone through all of the missions for any specific character in the second game, which is just silly. To boot, I don't even think you can get that DLC anymore, it was a limited time thing.

You're not wrong that it included more content, but generally the Switch versions of stuff is the same product on paper and the limitations of the system hamstring it significantly. I see you have MK11 - which is a good example. You can find a whole bunch of those types of games where it's pretty cool that they got the games running on a Switch and, yeah, it works, but to say performance difference are pretty much the same or negligible is inaccurate.

To kind of go along with the better deals thing, it's actually kind of generally accepted that there's a "Switch tax" on most games, where they're going to cost you 5-10 bucks more than on the other systems. Or the games come out far enough past the other versions that you can find deeply discounted versions of the game as opposed to buying the Switch version (Dragonball was $9.99 on a sale a few months back on steam).

None of that is to convince you to start buying up PS4 games. Obviously you value portability very highly and there's nothing wrong with that. I tend to gravitate to the Switch version as well as long as the sacrifices are not significant. Hell, I've stopped buying many PS4 games because I have a base PS4 and most new releases run significantly better on the PC. I'm ready for a console refresh.

Word. Am I crazy or did I hear both PS5 and the new Xbox are due out THIS year? If so, you won’t have to wait too long for the refresh! :D

Uh...sorry to everyone for derailing this thread! LOL Hit me up if you want to throw down in SFV sometime!

After the first sentence the text is light grey, like you copy and pasted and had no ideas of your own.
