SaysWho? Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Looking back, some of my favorite gaming memories -- and some of the favorites I've heard from others -- came from DLC. Some DLC is just really lame (I'm looking at you, Arkham games, even though the base game rocks). But this decade, we've seen: Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker (this seems like it came out a lifetime ago lol) Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Mass Effect 3: Citadel Bioshock Infinite: Burial At Sea Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void The Last of Us: Left Behind: Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory, Sunken and Iron King Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove Destiny: The Taken King Bloodborne: The Old Hunters The Witcher 3: Heart of Stone and Iron and Wine Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds: Resident Evil 7: Not a Hero Destiny 2: Forsaken Monster Hunter World: Iceborne No Man's Sky: Beyond There's been quite a bit, and some are great but not even best-of-decade since some developers really gave, in some cases, a new and really amazing experience. This is just a list of some of the notable ones, but what, for you, really impressed you? Quote
SaysWho? Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 One that won't get a ton of mentions but easily is for me, is all the Resogun DLC: Resogun was an addictive game in its own right. The Defenders DLC made it into one of my favorite games this gen and added so much, with so many memories co-oping the shit out of it, including with some of our D1P members. I wish I had a counter for how much time I spent with the game once the DLC released. Quote
ShreddieMercury Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Great list. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is probably my favorite. It's a concentration of everything that makes those games great, and wraps up the story in a very interesting and conclusive way. Quote
atom631 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Definitely both Witcher 3 and TLOU were at the top of my list. Quote
Mercury33 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Jesus I can’t believe some of those were this decade. RDR(the good one) feels like ages ago. Quote

Bloodporne Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Probably Bloodborne: The Old Hunters for me. It really fleshed the game out and was basically worth it already for the Ludwig boss fight. Really wish RE2 Remake had gotten legit DLC. I would've been a sucker and paid to have that game fleshed out, there's so much room for more content. Quote

Alpha1Cowboy Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 I think hands down the winner for me is No Mans Sky updates.....like 2 entirely new games Playing it in VR is just a blast Quote
Ghost_MH Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Nothing beats all the Shovel Knight expansions. Three full expansions that are basically all new games along with Showdown, which is also an entirely new game. All of that for free with the purchase of the base game? It's the only game that gave away so much for free I felt compelled to triple-dip. Quote
skillzdadirecta Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 The Witcher Expansions for sure... those were almost like full fledged games in their own right. Quote
Remarkableriots Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 The three best expansions ever! Quote
CastlevaniaNut18 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 The Witcher 3 expansions and nothing else really comes close. Quote
skillzdadirecta Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Mass Effect 2 and 3 had great expansions too so did Shadow of War. Quote
CastlevaniaNut18 Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 The Last of Us: Left Behind was a good one. I think I waited til I got the PS4 version to play it. I know I’ve played more DLC, but The Witcher 3 was just the ultimate experience in what DLC can be. Quote
