Anathema- Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Anyone else have an election today? Hoping for some good results. Quote
SaysWho? Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Stuff I'm looking at: How close will Mississippi's governor's race be, win or lose for the Democrat? Can Democrats make more gains in the Kentucky legislature? Can Democrats make more gains in the Virginia legislature despite how gerrymandered it is? Quote
marioandsonic Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 There are some local elections today. Haven't paid much attention to those, but since I've moved, it would be a good opportunity to use the new voting location for the first time. Quote
Chris- Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 The big things in my area are the county DA (an independent versus a herb incumbent Democrat that is also cross-registered as a Republican) and some ballot measures (increased millage to fund local parks, Marsy's Law). I'm voting for the independent and 'No' on both measures. 1 Quote
b_m_b_m_b_m Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I have several uncontested races that the democrat will win that I'll be voting for. Ok, two of the races have a libertarian or an independent, but I live in a minority majority district; the democrat is winning Quote
mclumber1 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I don't believe I have anything to vote on this year. Quote
Guest Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Bunch of ballot measures this time, nothing else. Quote
Ghost_MH Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Mostly just ballot measures and city/school council. The biggest ballot measure for me was to change voting to a ranked choice system. I didn't realize we, Lowell in Massachusetts, were the last major city in Massachusetts to not switch to ranked voting. Quote
b_m_b_m_b_m Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Voted and got my flu shot both this morning. Guess which one was more painful? Quote
Dodger Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Shit I got my ballot a month ago and then put it some drawer and completely forgot about it. Quote
RedSoxFan9 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I left the ballot blank for the local mayoral race Quote

MarSolo Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Mayoral race in Philly. Some legitimately dumb dago in South Philly who’s a die hard Trump fan is running against Kenney. I’m hoping Kenney greases him. Quote
marioandsonic Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Just voted now. Polls don't close for a couple hours yet, and I don't know where to track the results. Quote

What race (s) are you looking to follow? Nyt and wapo usually have the bigger races up soon (VA leg, MS, KY govs) Quote

Commodore D Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I didn't. Went to my Open Table meeting and played basketball instead. There wasn't really anything for my city other then the council chairs and I know and like everyone running. Within my county though there was the vote to increase funding for the local community college, and I am glad to see it is passing. Its fairly large and a good portion of people end of with quality jobs with little debt. Quote
