What are things that used to work in a show/movie but wouldn't work anymore

When I think of this question, I think of Wilson from Home Improvement:

His face was revealed at the end of the series:

But with the internet and imdb's pictures/history of all actors, the mystery would resolve itself pretty quickly nowadays. Back then, my brother and I looked carefully for any possible mistake or movement.

Fight Club only the narrator escapes life via 4chan and meets Tyler there instead of while traveling.  Marla, assuming she was a real person, probably wouldn't have encountered him.

The characters in Office Space smashing wifi routers with a baseball bat instead of fax machines, and Milton would probably be working remotely.

Josh Brolin's character could've called an Uber in NCFOM and also bought tons of inexpensive security cameras to put everywhere to help make the film less suspenseful.

Smoking, having an all male cast, having the story focused on saving a girl...

I feel like all 3 of these could be done in separate scenarios and be fine.

Mad Men and Breaking Bad had quite a bit of smoking, not exactly recent, but within the general time frame that I would find acceptable.

War movies/shows could get away with having an all male cast. Depending on how literal you are (like all male cast or just no central female character to the plot) Dunkirk could count.

Movies/Shows based on books for saving a girl.

Overall though yeah, not something you'll see commonly anymore.

The hot girl drunkenly hooking up with the nerd and then falling in love with him because his cocksmanship is off the charts. In the 80's that was a teen movie plot point. Today that's called RAPE.

Technically it was tonguesmanship not cockmanship.
