Fans of professional wrestling are abuzz with excitement this week after the recent appearance of CM Punk at the AEW Rampage event — but very little is publicly known...

So in case no one was paying attention, Jon Moxley just won the GCW title over Matt Cardona & will face Brian Gage Oct 9th for the strap (however seeds are planted for Gage to show up on AEW between now & then!)

That said, who's stoked for All Out later tonight? Punk's return against Darby, Britt v. Kris, Bucks & Lucha Bros in a cage! So many great matches alongside with the looming allure of the potential for both Daniel Bryan and/or Adam Cole to make appearances!

What did I miss, should have ordered it but I didn’t.

Spoiler

Ruby Riott Soho debuted and won the Casino Battle Royale. Also, cool that Lars gave her permission to use the song as her theme. This is big for their fledgling women's division. And I will continue to call it fledgling until their women (not named Britt Baker) are given more TV, not YouTube, time.

Oh, Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson debuted after the main event. ;)

The main reason I brought up Ruby though is that in WWE, on the main roster, she was always presented as a jobber, while tonight, she debuted as a star, which for some reason (likely, her looks aren't WWE-conventional), WWE could never get behind.

Thanks I was gonna give you an upvote but I guess we aren’t doing that anymore.

Keep taking Ls Vince.

First of all, THIS! 100% THIS THIS THIS! Match of the fucking night without a shred of doubt about it. Also, the fact that the Lucha Bros went OVER as well, just out-fucking-standing! Add to it, Penta's shoot crying & hugging his familia was so touching & genuine.

When Rancid's music hit, even I marked out a little but on screen you could tell that not only the crowd was in love with Ruby but that she was already over in a way she hadn't ever felt before & not dissimilar to Punk's return, the moment was soaked in & a few tears were shed & it was astoundingly beautiful.

Speaking of Punk, he was definitely the in ring general for this, and he also worked in a way that was far slower that I recall but I enjoyed it immensely & the story they got to tell was solid, as well as Sting/Darby/Punk all being there together in the end anyways was again as beautiful as it was on Dynamite last week.

Love him or hate him, Kenny Omega IS a star and jesus flub me sideways that man can wrestle his fucking ass off ... and Christian Cage was there to meet him at every juncture & make this match stellar! As for the obvious shenanigans that ensued, yeah ok that tracks but then my oh my did the train pull into the station. Deep pull from BTE where they had "killed" Adam Cole (BAHBAY!) only to swerve the crowd & viewers in that moment as everyone thought D.B./B.D. was gonna show was a stunning reveal, only to swerve again when he kicked Jungle Boy in the face AND THEN the Ride of the Valkyries hits and Bryan Danielson shows up for yet another swerve ... GTFO HERE OMFG NO WAY!

What transpired last night was a continuation of all the last couple months' worth of momentum but charged with a fucking flux capacitor. History was imprinted upon & you could just FEEL a groundswell of change in that glorious moment. I am beyond elated that in just a few short weeks in Rochester, I legit haven't a clue who in the hell is showing up, what the story's are going to be, what I shall bear witness to and it makes the fact that I had to wait 18 months for the event not hurt even a little bit because the wait was OH SO WORTH IT!

Mick's not wrong & Booker T agrees with him. Take a look even at the last 5 years let alone the last 10-20. I just don't understand what WWE is attempting to do and there are very few "highlights" worth watching let alone remembering anymore.

They've spent the better part of those 5 years trying to get Roman over and having the show revolve around him. I mean it still does, only he's a heel now and fans are less critical about it. Roman and the Usos took up a majority of the show last night. Combined with an inexplicably long Seth/Edge match, the only women's match was cut from the show. A meaningless tag match in the grand scheme of things but it meant a lot to Zelina Vega who lost her dad 20 years ago at the WTC. Dynamite was bad with their time management this week so WWE was like, "hold my beer".

Honestly, the biggest highlight in that time period was Becky's organic rise. The subtle build, the failed heel turn, WWE brass doubling-down wherever they could but eventually giving in after 2+ months, and peaking with bloody Becky in the build to Survivor Series. A shame the build after Rumble and the main event Mania match was bad but never would I thought that a woman who wasn't the "chosen one" would get a Daniel Bryan-like rise to the top and be a top merch seller. Not bad for being the "4th" Horsewomen.

Can't believe he said that and thought it was fine.

Watching Dark Side of the Ring, I was thinking “is he really going this route…?”, then he compared being “offended” by a naked man grabbing a woman’s hand and trying to force her to touch his penis to being offended by him “having a double ponytail” and was in awe.

Holy mother fucking god dayum shit what a supremely excellent show! I am legitimately downright envious of every single of the near 20,000 in attendance in Queens tonight because you're getting essentially a PPV quality show that is "merely" a couple weekly TV shows. EVERY SINGLE MATCH TONIGHT could have been its own headliner any week of the year but instead we are inundated with such furious awesomeness (*AEW-someness?) that any and all superlatives cannot match the epic nature of what transpired in just the first two hours!

Bryan Danielson & Kenny Omega put on a master fucking clinic of a WRESTLING match that left them both bruised, battered, bloody, sore for days if not weeks to come, and I just want to see them have a fucking iron man match! I have said it to myself for days now while looking forward to not just tonight's show but next week when I'm in Rochester to see it all LIVE, "How IS THIS even a thing that is actually happening!?" "HOW HAS WRESTLING BECOME SO SUPERBLY PHANTASMAL AGAIN!?"

I am beyond elated, totally stoked for all the matches Friday night (the first two hour show that I sure as shit hope they WILL do more of - its inevitable right?) as well as next Wednesday LIVE! I freaking love being a pro wrestling fan again.

American Dragon "you're going to head fucking kicked in" Bryan Danielson is back with a vengeance, I want to say we really only got a good look at this level of viciousness from him in the WWE with his match vs Brock. Next few years are going to be wild.

Just thought of this BD in the G1 tournament :daydream:

Also hot as hell crowd last night, losing their minds for a simple lockup. Glad they finally over Cody and were actively cheering Black.

SoberChef I am worried we are going to have a very meh show next week with everything they are throwing out this week between Dynamite and Rampage, like you said they are essentially PPV matches. It might be a lot of talking next and building the next story lines.

Well @elboboI do believe the Miro/Sammy G. match for the TNT (soon to be TBS title?) strap is happening, also would they not be filming BOTH Dynamite AND Rampage, so that's easily 4ish hours of wrestling to enjoy with dark matches perhaps as well? I know they have the old Impact Zone at Universal now for Dark/Elevation but yeah we'll see a slew of talent and there will be fallout from all that happened in Queens between the two shows (HUGE spoilers about a shocking appearance during the lights out match is out there if you haven't heard already!)

Already booked my table at Dinosaur BBQ and I am absolutely hanging around after everything is done as well.

You have to think that, with all things Brodie Lee/Jon Huber, Rochester IS special to AEW forever & always, that's pretty spectacular. There are rumors of Bray Wyatt/Mr. Rotunda showing up but honestly I don't really want him in AEW but that's regardless of the point.

As for your Bryan Danielson G1 Tourny pipedream, I was rewatching the match this morning & I had a stellar idea that IF D.B. shows up to NJPW, they could totally have him & Kota Ibushi have a hell of a classic themselves, bond over it, and then it is D.B. that is "responsible" for bringing Kota into Kenny's realm ... now that's a hell of a thing to make happen!

What a show last night, one of their under promise over deliver cards. Crowd was into almost all the matches, even the dark matches got some pops. Tons of Brodie chants as expected.

Make sure you watch the first match on Rampage this week if you like professional wrestling, amazing in ring action.

You could say our seats were pretty good, I'm the 6th person back in the glasses. We were ringside opposite the entrance ramp.
