Should I replay GOW or finally beat MGSV?

I beat GOW when it initially released. At that time, I wasn't into gaming much and I remember being critical of the game. I was thinking about replaying it since I'm on a roll with gaming.

But, I remembered I never beat MGSV. I somehow lost interest or got distracted by another game.

What should I do?

MGSV.

I don't care how incomplete, or whatever, it is, that game is fucking great and a joy to just play like few others.

I'm replaying GOW right now and while I really dig the combat still, I find having to sit through all the soapy son/dad slow walking and what not again to be tedious. I'm not holding it against the game really but I think MGSV is more unbridled videogame fun.

In my initial playtime with it some of the father son parts were cringy for me. I'm excited to start MGSV today.

I'm not sure how far you previously got, but give MGSV some time. I feel like the learning curve for actually playing WELL and smartly is kind of high at first. I hated on it at first just because I wasn't used to its relatively different approach to stealth. There's just so much to experiment with.

One really basic move I found super useful was the sprint and knockout punch.

Also, I played without most of the HUD like red markers and 'xray vision' where you see marked targets through buildings. I found it way more engaging and exciting.

GOW's problem is that it feels too interruptive quite frequently on subsequent playthroughs. I start to really feel those walking-talking segments and other forced hinderances snowballing into frustration sometimes. Also, the kid babbles so much, lord I wish they'd have implemented a slider for banter frequency still.

Father-son parts are soooooo good, especially once Mimir joins y'all. Having replayed the game, the growth/journey between the two really earns its payoff.

Finish MGSV? That's the worst part about MGSV! There is no ending, so you might as well extend the gameplay fun!

And many more! Extra missions, no load times/long heli rides, even more gameplay variations, new modes! The good shit!

Xbox One X. Unfortunately it's not X enhanced either. The visuals are a lil dated but still good. I forgot how brutal the entire opening is in the hospital.

I then beat the first mission saving Miller. So far, I'm enjoying it. Apparently the game is MASSIVE so I have no idea when I'll beat it.

Well it turns into recycle mania and you don't have to engage with online base infiltration and all that. Problem for me was that the basic gameplay loop was so endlessly entertaining that I found myself fucking around aimlessly for hours sometimes and I had a great time.

I was at like 60 hours played and only maybe 1/4 into the main missions at one point. I have a feeling times vary vastly from player to player.

I ended up getting sucked into the online components as well and oh boy...

I actually think it's a gorgeous game btw. I like the lighting and night skyboxes a lot. Also the bases are super 'clean' looking.

Fuck, this alone makes me want a gaming PC finally :/

The thing with MGSV's opening is that it's great the first time. It's a big wtf.

If you replay the game, it's that opening sequence where you can't do much actual gameplay yet that you want to get through to get to the good shit. :p

But a lot of games have that. Arkham Asylum is the same way. You play it the first time and you go, "WHOA, shit!" And on replays, it's like, "Can I hold a button to skip this?" As far as setting up the game's story, it's great. I hope OP has played Ground Zeroes.
