Yup and even HE was impressed by Bruce Lee's skill and ability. The thing is, is that MOST action stars have clauses like these in their contracts in eluding Bruce Lee, and Chuck Norris. Even B Level stars like Micheal Jai White have clauses like that in hist contract. I don't think he ever lost an on screen fight straight up until recently. Even when he co-starred with Jean Claude Van Damme and Steven Sega at the height of their stardom.

2. When he said that Kevin Hart’s jokes about beating his gay son are “no big deal”. Clearly. Double a heterosexist standard. Would Skillz be okay with a white comedian making a joke about beating his adopted black son because he’s acting too black?

My position, if I remember correctly, was that Hart had, in his words apologized for those jokes, several times at that point and the controversy had moved on before it was brought back up. This is gonna get lost in the conversation, and the temperature probably needs to cool, so I'm not gonna get caught up in this. But since I like everyone here:

 

Before people pile on sexy_shapiro, please remember that there's a lot more than, "I wonder if something bad is going on in your life," to any L, G, B or T, and sometimes it's a constant thing going on since childhood that they're putting up with everyday. If you're black/Hispanic/a woman, you likely can relate that simply existing is bringing hardship to you and even some of your friends are subconsciously making jokes at your expense that have to do with your sexuality. I consider these two friends of mine close to me and one is gay, and I know one of them sometimes makes a flippant remark about his sexuality or an LGBT group that he'll join. And I know he doesn't like that, even though friend A isn't a bad person by any stretch. But it really frustrates Friend B.

 

So I get it's heated, I've seen this happen in a lot of threads, I'm sure this shit's getting deleted, I don't expect this to end today, but there's probably a lot that's happened just for being gay, and it's one of those things where, don't tell someone to simmer down even if you don't think you did something wrong. Not responding and letting it go is probably the best course right now (and I think it's happening); I just wouldn't look negatively at him for venting now because I guarantee you (just saw his latest post) that he's been through some serious shit through no fault of his own and a lot of this reminds him of actual stuff said to him or a gay friend.

Thanks for this post and now that I've cooled down,  I see that this was deeper than movies or any of the other silly shit we were arguing about. I'm at work now with clients and can't really get any more in depth and I did put him on my ignored users list, but I will also reach out to him behind the scenes to hash this out because while I may be an asshole, I am not a homophobe.  That said, I am aware of how things we say can be offensive to groups who's experiences are not ours.
