The 'Cats' Movie Looks Nuts. Just Absolutely Bonkers, update - the movie is literally getting a "Day One Patch"

Recommended Posts

Or so says Matt Singer at Screen Crush.

The trailer will debut on Friday, until then all we have is this odd behind the scenes video:

Enormous sets, built to give you the "cat's perspective," talk of "digital fur technology," Taylor Swift and Idris Elba and Judi Dench and Ian McKellan, Cats will have it all.

This movie is going to be crazy, I haven't any idea what everyone is going to look like.

Holy fuck this looks hideous! Why not just go with actual cat designs, slightly cartoonish if they need to be a little outlandish and be wearing clothes, instead of this awful furry design? I mean it's not like they're supposed to be anything other than regular cats after all.

I'm guessing they didn't go with costumes because some of these actors probably aren't very good dancers, and acrobats, but even still it's not like you can't fake it. Pointless CGI really.

Like I said earlier, if they really wanted to attempt a live action look, they could have just gone with CGI cat designs like The Jungle Book, and The Lion King do, but then again maybe this type of musical isn't suited for a live action movie, and they should have just done an animated version (either computer animated, or 2D hand drawn). Not everything needs to be live action when adapted to the big screen.

Just wanna gives a heads up. I HAVE WEED FOR SALE  or should I be calling it Catnip? Anyways, who needs weed to watch CATS. My cousin is debating about us and her husband getting fucking high as shit and Uber ourselves to the theatre. I know some of the managers that will get us home safe and sound.

In some ways it looks visually neat, but you know there just a ton of furries at home whacking it off to this trailer as if it were found gem on PornHub

I got use to the look as I watched more of the trailer.  Didn't they do the costumes and all that jazz for a made for tv movie of the stage play several years ago?

Hell, wasn't the stage play retired at some point?  It was the longest running musical for awhile.

Weed is legal in Canada, just fyi. I've never done it, but I feel as if I would need to in order to see this movie.

Highly suggest Cinderella 99 for this experience. Make them colours shine and put you in a happy mellow as hell mood. It worked great for Fantasia 2000, especially the whale segment
