No Time to Die (08 October 2021) - multiple reviews posted

So, I ended up watching all the Craig movies. Movies kinda sucked. Nothing wrong with the actors, but the movies just suck. Craig 1 and 3 were only barely better than Craig 2 and 4. I also didn't expect there to be this huge focus on love. Like, I expected Bond to fuck some Bond girls, but the romance was shit and bad. And, lol, holy shit, PG-13 is a fucking sin. Yeah, these movies are hella lame. With John Wick and Kingsman, Bond movies just can't compete.

Is this a joke post? Craig's Bond movies are overall excellent, and reinvented him into a different type of Bond, including one who falls in love (not actually new to the Bond series, but usually heavily ignored in favor of just banging every girl he sees). They aren't perfect films by any means (Quantum of Solace was hampered by the writer's strike and the last act of Spectre is awful and all the plots are too same-y), but they aren't trying to be John Wick or Kingsman.

Not a joke. I just find them lame. And I have only ever seen Goldeneye until I watched these movies. And like, I didn't say Bond is trying to be those other movies, but those movies gave me the same vibes, but like, they were way better. And they don't seem to have the reviews that make them appear overall excellent. 1 and 3 have high reviews, but not the other two. And it is fine if they want to make Bond fall in love, but it was done like shit in each movie. If just felt like Bond was suddenly in love each time for no good reason aside from "we were in danger together."

Being in danger together in high stress situations bonds people together quite quickly - certainly at an accelerated rate. Regardless, I don't know what to tell you, I enjoy them plenty and agree with reviewers that Casino Royale and Skyfall are excellent (if flawed) films, and I disagree with reviewers about Quantum of Solace and Spectre, as I think there's a lot of good in each film despite their clear problems.

I equate the Bond films more to Mission: Impossible or Jason Bourne vibes than I do a John Wick or Kingsman vibe. So depending on how you felt about those films would more likely dictate how you feel about the Craig Bond films. And Bond films have always been PG and PG-13.

I mean, I didn't say you couldn't nor was I asking people to change my mind or change their minds. They aren't the worst thing, and they aren't that bad, just not for me. And QoS had my favorite part of any of the films where he interrupted the play/opera and got all those faces and was then smug about it. That was pretty great.

I haven't seem much M:I or really any of the Bourne movies. I know I have seen the first Borune movie when I was younger, but I can't remember a thing about it. I have seen 3 or 4 of the M:I movies but I can't remember much about the either except for that I enjoyed them for the most part, but they weren't anything special. At least they weren't special enough to make me ever consider rewatching them.

What an odd and puzzling turn this thread has taken. I’m honestly speechless about that take lol

What take? That I didn't like them?

That's our @Bacon!

Yeah. This is kinda like the Matrix shit all over again. Didn't really like those movies either.

In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
