LazyPiranha
Closed. I have a kid. I always slept with it closed when it was just my wife and I as well except for very hot nights in the summer for better air flow. I'm not exactly worried about home intruders, but I don't have thick bedroom doors so I can easily hear someone walking downstairs when I have company regardless. Commissar SFLUFAN
Yes I do as it makes it easier for Inuk to walk in and out of my room.
Nokt
When I was in my parents basement I would so my cat could freely walk in and out of my room since he would sleep with me most nights. Now that I am in an apartment with a co-worker without my cat I keep it closed

Dodger
Yes I have cats and they will scratch at the door if it’s closed. It’s just me and my gf, and the door doesn’t let in anymore light so it doesn’t bother me
DarkStar189
Always opened. In my head I think it makes it safer if there was a fire, I would hear alarms or smell smoke faster in the event of an emergency. The doors in my house are all new but they aren't going to stop an intruder or anything.

Quote The simple act of closing your bedroom door before going to sleep each night could be the major difference between life and death in a house fire. While it's a more commonly known fact that a closed door could stave off smoke and heat from a fire, keeping your door closed while sleeping could reportedly ward off flames for an additional half hour. https://www.aol.com/article/news/2017/06/20/why-a-closed-bedroom-door-could-save-your-life-in-a-fire/22492098/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYmluZy5jb20v&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANYwKIatBs_xh2WNhU-hck-zjwnHnulfs91FcINRA_yNad8GnrWz5PAB7UbaUeTr3G-4ovqtbG3p4fVKuaysR1ERMID-TfMwHzcKUYH_ZbKFe7_7vL-N5RZlWot0ZIC04ryo4exEMG863DtZbvcZG9zrhOy0w1Hq3nZKrnDpgUbE

Luckily my house is no where close to being a death trap like some high up apartment or anything. Just a small 2 story house with windows in every room except the bathroom. One of our 4 cats in particular likes to sleep on the bed with us... if we close the door with her outside the room, she will literally cry for the entire night. She doesn't get tired, she doesn't get bored and do something else, she just sits there and cries until the door is eventually opened--whether that's in the middle of the night, or in the morning when we get up, there's crying until that door is opened. And after we open the door, whenever that may be, she comes flying into the room and yells at us for like the next 5 minutes. Like, it's not enough we locked her out, she has to let us know that wasn't ok, and to not let it happen again.

Also once she's done yelling, she plops herself on one of our hips and we cannot move. Both of our daughters sleep with their doors closed.
