Commissar SFLUFAN Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Even though Remedy already owned the Alan Wake IP, Microsoft had retained the publishing rights until now. Quote
Bloodporne Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I actually tried to replay it recently and it aged terribly. I had very fond memories due to its great setting and all but seemed to have forgotten how borderline bad its actual gameplay and controls were. Quote

XxEvil AshxX Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I actually think the reason we haven't seen an Alan Wake 2 was specifically because MS held the publishing rights. They've probably been sitting on it on purpose just waiting for that contract to expire. Now they don't have to worry about exclusivity. Quote
Rodimus Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I started Allan Wake a few years back. I didn't get very far. It seemed ok. I was just caught up in another 360 game. It was one of the Splinter Cell games. I think it was Conviction. That was ok until it got so hard it felt like banging my head against a wall for 30 mins before I would progress to the next spot for 30 mins. Quote

Like everyone that played Alan Wake, I'd say that it's been at least 7 years, if not more, since I played it. I do remember the dodge mechanic being finicky, but ultimately it handling reasonably well. Quote

Xbob42 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Can't wait for them to show off a really cool initial concept and then kind of a really normal game a year later! 3 Quote
ShreddieMercury Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I replayed Alan Wake last year and really loved it all over again. I actually found it less flawed upon reply than I did initially. Quote
Commissar SFLUFAN Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 Speaking of Control, I can't help but wonder if that game really is Remedy's "last chance" to have a bonafide commercial success, especially since it's a completely multiplatform title (EGS timed exclusivity notwithstanding ) If Control fares as "well" as Alan Wake or Quantum Break, I'm not sure how much of a financial future Remedy has as an independent developer. Keyser_Soze Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Word of mouth seems to be good. Hopefully gamers buy into the hype. Quote
CastlevaniaNut18 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 An Alan Wake sequel is something I've wanted so bad for a long time. Loved the original. The atmosphere was fantastic. Quote

Kal-El814 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I think I paid < $5 for Alan Wake which seems like the right amount. Quote
