Heroes add context to Confederate monument in Nashville

This happened in the park adjacent to my office in the early hours of the morning, apparently. The paint was still wet when I got down there this morning. 

 

This statue has its own wikipedia page, would you believe.

Erected in 1909 under lost causer-ism!

I think if they had graffitied "traitors" instead of "racists" it would have more impact to the people who still support (or sympathize with) the Confederacy. Also call them losers.  Because they were.

The soldiers? Sure. 

 

But the names on the plaque were the people that financed the statue and obviously were racists. I think it makes sense. Lost causerism is a perpetuation of white supremacy, and so is defending it.
