Police violate that creed by not standing with other union members in their time of need, and with their history of actively fighting unions on behalf of management. The strength of police comes from their monopoly of legal, state force and solidarity amongst themselves, not solidarity with the greater labor movement. Unions and union protections would do wonders in many corners of America right now because we have a massive problem of workers having little or no protection and employers having all of the power.
