JPDunks4
Phil Spencer being promoted to an executive VP in Microsoft and now being a part of the leadership team in Microsoft has been enough of a win for MS this gen. They are taking gaming more seriously. If Phil wasn’t doing a good job doubt that would’ve happened.

I’m sure Microsoft felt they would have weathered the storm this gen better with 343i on Halo and The Coalition on Gears. They always took those franchises (and Forza) seriously. It’s what helped them maintain their lead in most of last generation. Phil probably had to convince Microsoft as a whole that it wasn’t enough to compete from behind. They weren’t given enough capital to make good on what they hoped to achieve this gen, software-wise. Too many outsourced projects. Some half-baked, some unreleased. And closing Lionhead was a really dumb idea.

First thing he wanted to do was fix the hardware division. He did and they brought us the Marvelous Xbox 1x. His second step was to fix the software. He realized with the budget cuts of the previous leadership and their focus on multimedia instead of gaming hurt the brand. So he went about fixing the first party situation by more then doubling the first party studios and he's not done yet. I'm damn excited to see what they have to show. This e3 should be just a stepping stone for next year when the culmination of all of Phil's efforts will be in full effect. Told yall Phil was about to let his nuts hang. Get ready for Sunday He must of forgotten his nuts at home.
