The idea of buying in early on a massive RPG is usually not for me as I don't want to spoil the plot in the process of helping provide support to the team and feedback.  In this case I'll make an acception, as I plan to have several playthroughs of this one!

Yeah, I almost never read articles when posted, but I did for this. The story doesn't seem like something I'd like just based off of that. Of course, this is early access so things could change, and this is just the start of the story.

Still going for it, but damn that was either brutal truth and this is a stinker or that previewer really didn't like the design choices.

I skimmed a few others and this guy seems to be the most harsh.

Answering the question nobody asked: “What if Michael Bay made a D&D 5e game?”

Not very encouraging, but reading it, it honestly feels like this person doesn't understand how to play D&D 5e or why the ruleset works the way that it does.

That might be a problem for the general public too. But being as I've been playing D&D 5e remotely with friends since the pandemic started, I'm not worried about the combat. Worst thing in the description is they may not have balanced the party and encounters well, but that's precisely why this is in early access.

I played 15 hours of Baldur’s Gate 3 early access, and I want them back

Beyond the good looks of the graphics, I haven't found much in Baldur's Gate 3 to recommend it. Your character and party feel like insignificant gnats and are forced by circumstance to do and see awful things that they're not powerful enough to change. This is not a case of "tough moral choices" as seen in Wasteland 3, or in Obsidian's excellent 2016 RPG Tyranny—in Baldur's Gate 3, it feels like you have no agency at all.

Ouch.

I'm only 30 minutes in, but I'm enjoying it! Not sure what the issue is, this is playing exactly as I expected. Granted, it's a fusion of Divinity and D&D, just like you would expect from a D&D based game made by Larian Studios. I will say this though, it's hard, or I suck, or both. :sun:

I watched some streams on this and looks interesting to me.  I did not like divinity 1 but I keep seeing in reviews divinity 2 is good.

Anyone here have opinion if divinity 2 is worth giving a try?  The main thing I did not like about divinity 1 is it felt like I was on a wild goose chase which did not appeal to me at all and ended up having to look up a guide at certain points.

Hard, but well worth your time!
