Anybody going to watch Double or Nothing tomorrow?

Its been better than any PPV WWE has put out in the last 10 years (not counting NXT). So many moments that made me go oh shit. Totally worth my $50. I watched the replay on Bleacherreport.com The Cody vs Dustin match almost had me in tears. Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks was out of this world and they didn't even use any ladders or chairs straight up athleticism. So many great appearances like Shawn Spears and Amazing Kong were real surprises. This is the wrestling alternative that people have been needing. Lesnar winning the money in the bank when he wasn't even in the match. Get the fuck out of here with that.

Rumor going around that All Out might be where a certain punk might show up :isee:

Punk returning in Chicago would make the whole city explode. Fuck I need to watch this.

It’s new and it’s different. I get that. But it isn’t better than all the WWE PPVs from the last 10 years lol. Come on now.

I may be hyperboling a bit but let's say even the last 5 years. The AEW show for it's first pay per view ever knocked it out of the park. They knew exactly the audience they were going for and gave them everything they been wanting and so much more. I like WWE but the quality shows they have been putting out has been putting me off. They have so many talented wrestlers that they aren't doing anything with. Shawn Spears aka Ty Dillinger aka the perfect 10 in WWE was pretty much a jobber after he left NXT but the few minutes he was in the Casino Battle Royal was better than his whole booking in WWE. If you think this was just a run of the mill ppv then tell me the ppv you have been watching because I want more. Can't wait for the Chicago show and the TNT deal to start.

Later this year, WarnerMedia will provide exclusive multi-platform access for fans to watch AEW events, airing live weekly matches on TNT in prime time, as well as streaming them through WarnerMedia’s B/R Live and on pay-per-view. A leading digital sports enterprise, B/R Live’s high fan engagement will provide an invaluable opportunity to build AEW’s audience.

Except IT WAS! Look, take Mania 2019 for instance. We ALL wanted Kofi & Becky & Seth to win, no doubt...and they did which was fun & great...but now what!? Look what happened at MitB, the fact that women cannot wrestle in S.A. and the company cowtails at the $50M and just accepts that shit.

What transpired at Double or Nothing from the onset of the battle royal to the culimination of the night, it was all excellent and far outside anything given to us for a VERY long time in WWE. I mean in all seriousness, the Cody/Dustin match had only roughly a month of "build up" over two promos essentially but those of us who are die hard fans, KNEW the tumultuous nature of what was transgressing and in the match itself, had some of THE BEST story telling in as long as I can remember!

Bucks v. Lucha Bros. HOLY FUCK! The pure athleticism on display there, total insanity! Not to mention so many other moments placed throughout the night including how massive of a star MJF is going to be in the future and how DIFFERENT Jon Moxley is compared to Dean Ambrose! He was unchained and it was surreal.

Also for those interested in MORE MJF, look below:

No wrestling ppv is worth 50 anymore to me. I don’t care how good it is. I think 20 is the max I would pay.

What makes you say that!?

Personally I say if you are supporting a product just by the idea alone and what it stands to represent to the greater whole, then it shouldn't matter (as long as you have the disposable income, honestly). Always vote with your wallet no matter what! I just don't know why you think $20 is the MAX, like WTF? What year are you living in? Just because streaming is an option now doesn't make it the defacto way to view something. Hell, even though I have ESPN+ and it costs extra for a UFC PPV, I know damn well I'll pay full price for the Cerrone/Ferguson fight! It's when it matters most to you I suppose!?

I would gladly pay $50 for All Out if it's booked even remotely as good as Double or Nothing was. The things those wresters did deserve every last bit of those $50. It was a great show. I'm also hoping that they stick to the Saturday PPV schedule as it works much better for me than Sunday nights.

I’ll pay for a UFC fight but I won’t pay that much for wrestling. I have the money to pay 50 but I don’t think wrestling is worth it to me at that price point. Just because I have the money doesn’t mean I’ll spend it.

Money in the Bank 2011, Over the Limit 2012, Wrestlemania XXX and 31 were all really good. You're telling me it was better than all that for realsies?

I'm not saying WWE's current product is good; it's been shit. But 10 years, g'damn. The one thing with WWE is a PPVs can be great when the product isn't and a PPV can be awful when the product isn't.

Not sure if you can stream it but it was available via Bleacher Report Live. I believe it still is up for replay.

Yes! Watch the replay on B/R Live. Most fun I have had watching wrestling in a long time. Even if its not as good as those PPVs in your eyes you won't regret watching Double or Nothing. It was a great show.

WMXXX was near perfect and probably my second favorite WM.

I don't know how I missed this thread. Great show, best PPV I have seen in ages. What I really liked about it had something for everyone, if you want a Joshi match, you got it, want an old school 80s style blood bath, that is there, want a flippy indy false finish marathon, no problem and then it finished with a strong "conventional" main event. If you couldn't find a match on this card you liked you straight up don't like pro wrestling.

I will admit I am not a unbiased in this I have been friends with Chris Harrington since high school, he is one of the business end VPs of AEW so I was cheering for him as much as any of the wrestlers because I know how hard he has worked for the past 6 months helping put this all together.

MJF is going to be a star, the guy is only 23 and is doing stellar heel work already.

If they can get the PPV down to $10 i'll rent it but until that happens nope.

if you have a VPN you can get the UK version for $20, that is how I did it and it was the most trouble free stream I have ever had for a PPV, literally did not buffer or downgrade once.

That was a great PPV because of the Daniel Bryan Story line going into it. Very emotional at the end. But it's also where Brock broke Takers streak which I think to this day was a horrible way to break the streak. WWE used to put on great PPV but WrestleMania XXX was over 5 years ago and now the roster is a hell of a lot more stacked than ever.

I just enjoy good wrestling whether it's from WWE, NXT, NWA, New Japan or AEW. Right now WWE is in a slump so it's good to have choices in this day in age on where to get my wrestling fix. There's even awesome local indie promotions like Bar Wrestling (RIP ), PWG, Lucha Vavoom and Empire Wrestling Federation in my area. I want to support awesome wrestling.

All but two matches on it were great, though. Those two "not great" matches were the Divas nonsense match which was "meh" and the "bad" Undertaker/Brock match (which was bad not because of the ending but because Taker suffered a concussion right at the beginning and required Brock to carry the match which he couldn't because of Taker's injury). Otherwise, legitimately every match on that card was damn near golden and perfectly paced.
