Correct. There will be one blue dot here if I move anywhere within Provo/Orem. But if I leave it will become the least segregated.

What if there was an ultra HD version of that map so you can zoom in and see a blue dot and then when you zoom into the dot you see

Looking at the map of Richmond, there is a very direct correlation (based on my eye test) between political polarization and historical redlining and white flight. Eastern and South Richmond (and Eastern Henrico) were designated for blacks (with few exceptions).

Cali was super blue in 2016. The Orange County Republicans in 2018 were wiped out after being a Republican stronghold forever.

 

Might be happening somewhat in San Diego as well due to Trump.
