I could see how that might rub some people the wrong way... sure... But people were mad because she was playing a woman who lives her life as a man? Really? From a public image point of view it’s probably good to keep the film alive and say some “this is a story that needs to be told” bs. But I don’t think she needs that. The irony is there isnt a trans actor out there that could get a film like this made. I assume it had a decent budget. Instead of taking her ball and going home she should stay on as a producer in name only, and see if she can help the film get made and repair her image a bit.
