So how can fans who aren’t in attendance in Chicago get the goodies?

The Star Wars Celebration panel for Episode 9 is scheduled for Friday, April 12, at 11am local time in Chicago.

This means it’ll be midday Eastern Time, and 8am Pacific Time.

The Star Wars 9 panel is expected to be streamed online on YouTube, like The Last Jedi panel two years ago.

In any case, the title and trailer will likely be made available instantly on the Star Wars social media feeds right away - assuming, that is, that Abrams and LucasFilm don’t keep us waiting once again.

The official description of the panel reads: “With the culmination of the Star Wars saga arriving before the end of the year, the Star Wars: Episode IX panel is one you will definitely not want to miss!

“With Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Star Wars: Episode IX director J.J. Abrams appearing onstage, you can count on plenty of surprises and special guests to keep your imagination buzzing for the rest of Celebration!”

I've decided to go on a media blackout for Episode IX. I won't be watching the trailer when it comes out. Just tell me the release date and when I can buy my tickets, please and thank you.

That makes sense given what we know of the films in development. Given that Game of Thrones is only just starting the final season, I doubt those guys are far along with their films. Rian Johnson is just finishing Knives Out, so I don't think he's too far along either.

I think it also makes sense in terms of what we've seen of how pent up demand can drive the box office. Not that they'll wait 20 years, but even a few years off could pay off, especially if it means better movies.
