Inside the Cell Where a Sick 16-Year-Old Boy Died in Border Patrol Care

Quote

Video obtained by ProPublica shows the Border Patrol held a sick teen in a concrete cell without proper medical attention and did not discover his body until his cellmate alerted guards. The video doesn’t match the Border Patrol's account of his death.

I wonder at what point Canadian immigration will pass the US on an annual basis.

EDIT:

2018 immigration:

USA - 1.1 million (.3% of pop of 327 million)

Canada - 320,000 (.9% of pop of 37 million)

2018 refugees:

USA - 22,000 (.007% of pop)

Canada - 28,000 (.08% of pop)

So perhaps not soon. But on a per capita basis, there is quite a difference.

My friends that moved to England last year had to prepay thousands into the NHS, have another $10k in the bank account, and prove they had employment sufficient to cover some basic level of expense for a family of 6.

Talking to other folks who have permanently moved to other countries, this sort of thing doesn’t seem particularly rare amongst wealthy nations.

This is true. But here's the question: if it costs the same and is just as difficult to move to America as compared to Germany, Canada, Australia, etc...how many people are going to choose America? America is a second-rate developed nation at this point, and the only advantage it has is that it's a discount destination.
