Oh, it sounds like this is a general change, not some tit-for-tat with the US I wasn't aware of (which is what I immediately assumed this was about, given the current administration).

I have UK citizenship which is about to become totally and completely useless in a few weeks :(

How exactly does it currently work going, say, USA->France with a UK passport? It's not quite as seamless as if your passport was German, given that the UK isn't Schengen, right?

I only used it within Europe :p

I mean, sure, aside from having Trudeau as your leader, and comedians brought to court over comedy routines. Oh, and people being kicked off stages for having dreadlocks. Yeah, sounds like a wonderful country....

So wouldn't you know the answer to my question? :p

When entering Schengen, do you enter through the same EU line as Germans/French/etc do, or is it slightly different since the UK isn't in Schengen?

I have no idea about the answer to your question, but I entered through the same line as EU residents.

I'm not seeing the problem here.

But that was the question! :p Given that there's a passport check going between the UK and continental Europe (I had to go through UK passport control to board the Eurostar in Brussels, for instance), I wasn't sure how UK passport holders were treated coming in from outside the EU (not from outside Schengen, I do mean from outside the EU).

I assumed the question involved traveling from the US to Europe on a UK passport, which I never do.

I travel from the US on my US passport then I travel within Europe on my UK passport.

Ah, I see. I thought you were showing your UK passport when initially entering the EU.

When are you actually showing your UK passport within Europe?

I typically exit the United States on my US passport and enter the EU/UK on my UK passport.  I literally switch passports on the plane.

If those are the best criticisms you have, then you prove my point!

  • Healthcare for all
  • Lower wealth inequality
  • Social programs for the poor
  • No imperialism
  • Far less corruption
  • Less racial division
  • Less violence
  • Better system of government

On paper the US is a better country, but in reality Canada is far superior. Unless you have billions of dollars. Also funny that you think Trudeau is worse than Trump?

Nobody is worse than Trump. But Trudeau is currentl;y lying to his whole country about SNC Lavalin, so lets not pretend he's not a dirtbag.

Healthcare for all, I agree with. The rest is fine if you really believe in socialism. I don't, and it always fails. How long before your Canada Pension and Medicare cant support itself anymore?

I agree that Trudeau should resign. And we had a shittier PM before him. But that doesn't make the country as an idea bad, as leaders come and go. The CPP is financial sound, with no expected date where it will enter the red. By definition medicare will never be unsustainable since it uses tax dollars. It's the same way that private healthcare in the US will never be unsustainable - they will just charge more for insurance. Healthcare demand is inelastic and therefore will always exist, unless you allow people to go without it.
