CitizenVectron Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/01/trump-deficit-democrats-1198671 Money was free when it was for the rich, but now that the Democrats want it for the rest of the nation, it's time to tighten those belts! Quote In the next several months, the Trump administration faces several big spending and budget showdowns with Congress. And after mostly brushing off deficit concerns while pushing through a costly tax-cut plan, the White House now plans to reposition itself as an unlikely enforcer of fiscal responsibility led by its new top budget official, a veteran of the conservative group Heritage Action. Spawn_of_Apathy Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Don’t worry, his base and the rest of the Republicans will fall for their shit hook, line, and sinker. They’re all idiots that in the end have no real idiology except “Republicans win, Democrats lose.” Quote
Jwheel86 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 This is why Democrats should have abstained, let the public feel the impact of Republican policies. Quote

It isn’t just that they don’t care, they are cowards who will say what needs to be done but know cutting spending in a meaningful way will lose elections. Quote

Yeah for sure. They will "pivot" to deficit-reduction, but the "pivot" will just be how they speak about the issue. They will attack the Democrats for wanting spending increases but will promise the exact same increases, and their base won't care about the hypocrisy. Definitely a sad state of affairs. Quote
Greatoneshere Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 They set up this scenario. We need to make sure they don't get away with it. Quote
