I really loved God Of War but thought the balancing was a problem, or specifically overleveling yourself too easily for the main story with available side content. I felt like I was such a fucking beast, the last 1/4 of the main story ended up feeling really uninteresting to me because I was just button mashing my way through almost every encounter. The final boss especially was very underwhelming. Granted, I never did all Valkyries because I ran out of steam (I always do with games of its size, not reflecting it on its quality), but the very first one was by far...by faaaaaar....the hardest thing it tossed at me. Hurdyb1 Posted February 23, 2019 Author Share Posted February 23, 2019 I presented this question to my son and reminded of one of the last missions on Metal Gear Solid 5 where you have to fight waves of enemies at this abandoned building and it's really on the borderline of frustratingly hard. darkness35 Posted February 25, 2019 Share Posted February 25, 2019 I wouldn't say it's hard due to the difficulty, but the cheap mechanics. htoL#NiQ's terrible controls on top of second maze phase here on the Vita. Bloodporne Posted February 25, 2019 Share Posted February 25, 2019 Well, I just tried to do the G2 boss fight in REmake 2 on Hardcore over the weekend with only the container and flashbag grenades because I was otherwise quite low on armor and it was easy to beat him on Normal without firing bullets. The first G fight feels designed to make you part with most of the ammo you’ve hoarded up until that point. The rest of them are super manageable, even on hardcore. G2 / container fight on Hardcore just cost me every ounce of patience and I had to blast him with the Magnum several times to get it done. That fight is hideous in terms of how sluggish your character is against his huge hit boxes. I get it's do-able, clearly, but it's a definite low point in the game for me. That being said, I'm on my sixth playthrough and don't even know if I'm going to stop after this. It's absurdly addictive and fun to play overall and I absolutely love the atmosphere with Classic OST enabled. Also, that sheriff outfit for Leon is really fun. The Flood never bothered me. I had heard so much about that portion of the game before I played Halo. I guess for others it was a tough portion. Well, it has exactly one board and you play for high score, aka survived time, only because beating it has to be literally impossible. I think the longest session after a week of playing was maybe a few minutes tops, if even. It's actually a supremely creepy and addictive game but I burnt out after two weeks or so. Edit: For the price point, it should be experience even just for the sound design if you're into Horror games. Hard to describe but it's truly creepy.
