Hirabayashi commented that Resident Evil 2 was remade after 21 years because fans continued to tell them that they wanted a remake. They couldn’t possibly remake Resident Evil 3 without the fans’ permission, so if players really enjoy the remake of Resident Evil 2 and voice their enthusiasm then we could use that as a good indicator.

I wanna remake of Code Veronica, tbh.

RE3 was good, but Nemesis chasing you throughout the game was unnerving. Even more than Mr. X.

Code Veronica holds up okay enough with it's 3D fixed cameras. A full blown remake wouldn't even be necessary, just update with newer assets and textures. And for God's sake re-do the voice acting so I don't feel like murdering Steve every five seconds.

Okay maybe that would be considered a full blown remake :p

I just wanna play it again without the tank controls, because I don't think I could handle those these days.

And better voice acting.

And visuals.

Yeah, just remake it. :p

I actually played the PS2 version back in the day, which was supposed to be comparatively terrible. But I remember really liking it.

Code Veronica is probably my third favorite in the series. I would love a remake.

But i love 3 as well.

I played a little bit of Code Veronica on 360 recently while getting hyped for RE2, and honestly the tank controls are only an issue for a few minutes. After that adjustment period I was running around like no big deal.

The problem is that the superior version of CV is the Dreamcast version. The PS2 port was terrible, which is what the 360 port was made from. It looks pretty awful.

Even if they just did a proper HD remaster, I'd be satisfied.

Never played Three cuz I never cared about Jill, lol. I like Claire more so I'd rather see CV. I of course want to see a modern take on RE4 in the RE Engine, but maybe it is a bit to soon for that. I mean, I also want to see an RE1 remake in the RE Engine. But Ø can go fuck off.

Speaking as someone who didn't play RE back in the day, why is 0 the odd one out for the older RE games?

I hated the two character's at once crap and hate Billy. I know you aren't always two characters but meh.

They went back and REtconned (sorry) the events right before the mansion. Which isn't the issue, but the shit they put into the story made no fucking sense whatsoever.

Like, for example, they crash in the forest near the mansion, get on a train that takes off doing like, 80 mph and run around on it for an hour or two, the crash the train right next to the mansion? Huh? How were they not in Arizona by then?

Doesn't RE0 have leeches or something?

Yeah. Hive mind leeches that can be controlled and join together like Ultron to form other creatures. It was all very farfetched, even by Resident Evil standards, which is saying something.

The biggets problem with the retcon was that Rebecca magically gets amnesia for the entirety of RE. She never mentions anything. They had ample time to hint at her prior experience, since RE0 was originally in development for N64, well before the REmake released on GameCube.

I've never heard a single great thing about RE0, so I never touched it at all. Will eventually get that HD reissue because I'm a sucker for the series and have already replayed my favorites ones about 10 times each it seems. RE4 probably 20.

Terrible story aside, the locations in the game are some of the most interesting in the series, in my opinion. But the "zapping" and shared inventory system sucks hard. I say play it through on easy to get the experience. Harder difficulties just make the item trading that much worse.

I liked it on Gamecube as well. But the item trading was never a great gameplay gimmick and now that I"m old and lazy I just don't have the patience for it. I've played about halfway through it on XBO, which was my first time experiencing it since the gamecube days, and I got to a point where I just had to take a break.

All that said, someone needs to update light gun technology so we can have a new RE Chronicles. I loved the first one on the Wii but holy shit does it look like ass on my 4k tv.

It's definitely not my favorite, but I didn't have any major issues with it. I'll probably replay it on PC at some point, because I bought it for cheap a while back.

I liked it ok. I really liked the look. The Compain or swapping of players was ok. I hated when the guy that I gave the shotgun to started unloading on crows flying around. I also didn't care to have a room full of shiny things and I had to find the right shiny thing to pickup that I needed. I think I started a game on the PS4. I will get back to it some day.

It’s a perfectly competent RE game. On the same level of RE3.
