silentbob
Surprised not to see anything up for this yet. First episode was released today and was pretty fun with them racing American Muscle Cars in Detroit. Need to catch up on the past seasons but I might have to do that over the coming weeks
Ghost_MH
I didn't know this dropped today. I guess I know what I'm watching tonight.

Probably no mention because the first episode released today. And there has been little advertising for it. They also have a $30 tie-in game for which I have not seen any advertising for either. I had to google when this season was coming out, because even in Dec there was nothing in the Prime Video app on it. No even when rewatching both seasons. Amazon is lucky it is already popular. Spawn_of_Apathy
Amazon did not send me a push notification to my phone until just 1 minute ago. They need to get their shit together. I will definitely watch the first episode when I get home tonight. This and Orville on Hulu.
elbobo
good start to the season and we get 13 episodes this time around. Clarkson's gut is getting really distracting
SoberChef
Yeah Jeremy's belly grew for sure. Wasn't aware that the "Exorcist" was even a thing! As for the continued disparaging housing market in Detroit, that really sucks.
Spawn_of_Apathy
It was a good episode. That Mclaren Senna is just insane. It is such an alien look. It looks light. It may be street legal in the UK, but I doubt it is in America. Jeremy is getting pretty fat. Lol
SoberChef
For real though I wasn't even aware of it. While physically to the eye it isn't QUITE that sexy, the elegance & beauty of it is in the design of what that magnificent car can DO on a track. Need that shit in the next Forza Motorsport PLEASE! elbobo
I love the lower window on the door, it makes zero sense and may even add weight but it so unique

SoberChef
Yeah they even comment on that by the end...then James ruined the whole damn thing the limey bastard! lol

elbobo
pickup truck episode was crap newest one with the Urus and the the outstanding Jim Clark documentary was great, Hammond's horse rant was also something else.
Spawn_of_Apathy
Yeah, the whole truck episode I was just thinking how they all have terrible trucks. I liked the Jim Clark documentary segment. I rewatched “1” which is free in Prime about the history of Formula 1, specifically how dangerous it used to be, and the fight to make the sport safer. If you’ve never seen it, it is good. SoberChef
That Jim Clark piece was so very well done. I wasn't aware of the man and I feel ashamed for not knowing about him until I saw that piece. WOW WHAT A DRIVER!! The greats, I mean the ALL TIME GREATS are always taken far too soon!
JVC920
Yeah that was a great segment on a driver myself and most I am sure of never heard of. I could have watched the full hour on that alone. So far enjoying this season and feels better than last season. Granted the truck episode was just OK.
Ghost_MH
Yeah, this has been a pretty solid season so far. If the worst we get is that pickup episode, then we'd be in pretty good shape.
SoberChef
Also their female driver, got to show off a bit of personality (as opposed to the muted masked man that was The Stig or that retarded redneck from season 1 that just did not work) and I appreciate them for that. Also, that Lambo Eros is wickedly stupid in all the best ways possible, must have been so much fun racing on that dick track
elbobo
China episode was solid and that electric supercar was a grip monster.

SoberChef
Yeah that goes to show how beast McLaren's car is, gawd dayum! That EP9 is ridiculously insane and makes me salivate at what Porsche's new all electric car will end up being like when it releases. My mind cannot even begin to wrap around what super cars will be like even 5 or 10 years from now. Still though, I was smugly smiling much like Clarkson at the petrol engined McLaren still (currently) holding the top spot!
SoberChef
Also...WTF @ those goddamned brakes!!!!??? Stops almost as quickly as it gets off the goddamned line!
elbobo
this felt like the most generic of top gear episodes, it wasn't bad and actually one of their funnier outings they just stayed completely in their comfort zone
elbobo
The RV one was funniest episode they have done in a while even though it was scripted to hell and back

It’s why I like the more straight up second hand vehicle road trips. Less scripting when their cars have legitimate break downs though I suspect they choose cars they can tell will break down. Previous owner may even warn them of the work needed. Still makes for entertaining tv.
elbobo
You could tell James May driving that specific car on that specific stretch of pavement was some top tier bucket list stuff for him. always enjoy Clarkson's extensive reviews of regular cars. CayceG
I adored the most recent episode. The scripted/constructed road trips are really wearing thin for me.

Ghost_MH
Long live John. The Mongolia trip was one of the best specials they've done in I don't know how long. That was a great episode.
elbobo
I haven't seen the mongolia trip yet but this season overall has been fantastic and probably the best season this trio has done on either TG or GT. The documentaries/old car reviews, like the porsche one from last week have been utterly outstanding
Spawn_of_Apathy
I dunno, I liked Season 2 more overall. This latest Special was one of the best they’ve done in a while though. I agree there. I liked that it felt less scripted than many recent episodes.
CayceG
The Lancia film was fine. The Porsche 917 film was INCREDIBLE. The one where they review the life of Jim Clark and talk about Buzz Aldrin's Corvette were so cool too. And I really really enjoyed the GT car road trip to the Caspian. But where they meet the guy in Georgia who has had the Russian border moved around him was really tonally off. They could have done a lot to mention the issue more than they did, or make some kind of poignant statement. But they just went back into the schtick. But MAN the Mongolia special was AWESOME. Best special in a long, long time.
elbobo
The Mongolia episode was so good.
Ghost_MH
I don't know how I feel about the show moving to just the specials and no tent. Even on some specials, it was great to cut to the tent and great their commentary on it. Doing away with that won't be much fun. That said, that was a pretty good episode. It made me want to buy a Ford.
elbobo
those last few minutes , end of an era. I'm going to miss conversation street the most. Those shots of the Cortina ripping around the track might be the best car footage they have ever filmed on either GT or TG
