UK developer and publisher Rebellion has acquired a fourth games studio.

The Sniper Elite firm has purchased TickTock Games for an undisclosed sum, following work together on Rogue Trooper Redux and the Nintendo Switch version of Battlezone.

Based in Yorkshire, the studio will be rebranded Rebellion North and has already begun working on upcoming titles.

Rebellion North is run by Arden Aspinall, Jonathan Wright and Paul Kelly, and is the fourth development studio under the Rebellion banner. In addition to the firm's Oxford headquarters, it also owns Rebellion Warwick (formerly the Oliver twins' Radiant Worlds) and Rebellion Liverpool.

The publisher also recently purchased a 220,000 square foot film studio.

TickTock Games has worked on a variety of games in its 12-year history. In addition to the Cricket Captain series, it was partnered with Team17 on Worms World Party and the BBC on Top Gear: Stunt School, as well as collaborating with Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Nvidia.

"Bringing more great people to the company is a great way to start 2019," said CEO and co-founder Jason Kingsley. "The company continues to grow and it's important we bring in the right people as part of that process. We've worked with the team at TickTock Games for a while now, and we know they'll continue to prosper as Rebellion North."
