I let them know I will continue to still pick up a few titles but not enough to meet the 10 title minimum. I have been collecting comics since 1984 and was very hard to come to this decision. After going back and reading some of the older stories from the 70's/80's/90's just reminded me how much I loved them then but not as much now. For the longest time I have been buying many books and not even reading them. I would just say to myself I am saving them up to read in bulk. But most of what I read or tried to read again (getting back into X-Men and Avengers for example) I just didn't enjoy. Several years ago I dropped DC titles mostly due to cost of new comics and at the time what a mess it was. I will still pick up a few titles (G.I. Joe An American Hero) but now will mostly be something I am going to read. I will continue to do the weekly posting here for whats shipping. I will keep reading news and stories but my hard core reading/collecting days are done. Due to how easy it is now to read digital comics and love my Kindle HD 10 tablet I can just wait for digital trades to read event titles and such. The sales Amazon has done is a great way to keep up on titles as well. For my personal collection I am going to spend the winter going through what I want to keep and purge the rest. Damn man I'm going through the exact same thing. I don't go to the comic store weekly like I used to and I have a pile of recently bought, unread comics going back MONTHS. DC is still putting some stuff out that I read but Marvel has been a complete dissappointment the past year. Also, I took a couple of months off last year and tried to get caught up but it was damn near impossible... Marvel renumbered their comics and with the multitude of covers, I was legit confused as to where I left off and how to get caught up. I think I'm going to do the same as you... go through my collection and decide what i want to keep and what I want to purge. Amazingly enough, like yourself and @skillzdadirecta, those same thoughts have been going through my mind as well recently. With me, a large portion of my entertainment time has been playing all of the big games and as a result I've been doing a lot of buying and not a lot of reading. I think I had read only two books in the last couple months. Like yourself, I've been collecting since around 1985. That's a long time doing something that I've really loved over the years. I was wondering why my desire to read was so lacking and have contemplated that maybe it was time to bring this collecting journey to an end. I've certainly cut back on my titles as I used to be at almost 80 and now I'm under 40 and of those, several aren't out every month. What's kept me from making the decision to stop was me finally knuckling down a couple weeks ago and reading. I got through 30 books! While a decision similar to yours may come for me in the next year, I'm not pulling the trigger just yet. I respect your decision though. Partially due to financial reasons but I am back on my feet and just not compelled to buy due to new directions, new ideas, and new numbering as well. I'll still get my share of X-Men, Wolverine, and Batman but I am seriously content just reading old books and the current stuff on Marvel Unlimited. Buys this week.
