The Mariners

Boston really screwed up the Xander situation. He likely would have signed that same AAV but for 6-7 years if they would have offered it last off season. Devers may be out the door next season at this rate.

The Mets’ luxury tax penalties for 2023 — just the penalties, beyond the record-setting payroll — are likely to exceed the payrolls of about 10-12 teams in the upcoming season. Steve Cohen wants to add the championship trophy to his collection of art.

Buster Olney

This is wild

Dodgers didn’t want to sign him because of fan reaction. Now he’s going to win titles in their division 😂

Dodgers are definitely getting Ohtani for like 500 over 12 or something next off season though

Astros re-sign Michael Brantley. Team has three of the most productive left handed hitters in baseball (Brantley, Yordan, and Tucker) and the league just banned the shift. LOLOL.

Hard to say what is best for the Astros, this lineup is deep

I think:

1. Altuve
2. Brantley
3. Bregman
4. Yordan
5. Abreu
6. Tucker
7. Pena
8. Chas/CF to be named later
9. Maldy

I HATE that Tucker has to be down at 6, dude need more ABs, but what a problem to have. And Astros apparently still in on Conforto to play CF.

Seeing anonymous sources at other clubs whine that Cohen is upsetting the apple cart is hilarious.

”There isn’t any collusion, but there is a reason we didn’t see hardly any 300 million dollar contracts!11!1!1!”

The current MLB revenue sharing deal puts $125 million a year into the account of every club at the beginning of the year. There are likely teams with operating budgets less than that. Literally profitable before they ever sell a ticket, a beer, a hotdog, local TV rights, corporate sponsorships, etc. Leeches on the league.

Next CBA should introduce a salary floor equal to the revenue share payout.
