They're a movement of white supremacist patriarchy, it's not surprising trump is their guy at all. They don't actually believe in that godliness stuff. Well religion and the religious right aren't that new, white evangelicals aren't new, white evangelism growing as a political force and becoming the religious right is only since the late 60's/mid 70's.
