White House suspends press pass of CNN’s Jim Acosta after testy exchange with Trump

This really is a the stupidest crap of all time. There are people actually acting like this was some sort of assault.

What it really says, when you take two steps back, is that these people are clearly playing a game. There isn't a single person on the planet who can look at what happened, and come away with the opinion that Acosta "layed hands" on a woman. So anyone with that opinion is a clear partisan hack who will mold their opinions to fit a narrative. There is no other way to look at it. If you call this assault, you are a partisan hack, who's opinions are formed to attempt to give you points in some sort of imaginary scorecard. You see the other side complain about something, and they think, huh, that looks fun, let's complain about something too... ha, he touched a woman! Assault! Assault! How do you like it!!1!!

Only it doesn't fucking work that way.

The problem with politics is that most issues are so complicated, that when you form opinions like this, people just accept them. When you say something about health care, people believe it, because very few people really understand how health care works on a national level. So a lie gets through. Not here. We can all plainly see exactly what happened. There was no assault. No laying of hands. Anyone who claims that is a fucking garbage person who should be shamed for it for all of time. They are no longer allowed to have opinions on anything, because they have proven themselves to be incapable of any form of rationality.

Correct. This is now the game, and the US is in a state of Orwellian control over 1/3 the population. If Trump announced tomorrow that everyone in the US would receive a tax refund of $1,000 and then no one did, 1/3 of the population would agree that everyone but them had received it, and they were just unlucky. They would point to fake videos made by people who said they had received it as evidence.

The game now isn't about anything other than creating false justification and proof of any action. Trump has done more to lower taxes than any President in history. Trump has made more peace, lowered crime, etc.

There was clearly no assault that's just a political tactic that the dems would use if this was all reversed. But Acosta got what was coming to him for not giving up the mic after his question was answered. He was also only kicked out of the White House, he didn't have his free press rights taken away as some are claiming. Nothing to see here but sensationalism on all sides, Dems, Reps, CNN and Fox.

With all due respect this is complete and utter bullshit... respectfully.

You're setting up some kind of false equivalency here.

If the POTUS took away someone's press pass to the WH, then fair enough.  But the fact that people in the WH are trying to justify it by claiming that they assaulted the woman trying to take away the mic, and then doctored the video to try and strengthen their claim...It's not sensationalist to point out how wrong that is.

Yeah, I remember all the times Obama suspended the press passes of Fox News.

Oh what horsecrap from The New Yorker.

White House press briefings are on the same level of journalistic usefulness as an E3 press briefing, if not less.

They were always fluffy access journalism bullshit, but now that they've transformed into nakedly Orwellian propaganda exercises this insistence on maintaining access is ESPECIALLY a joke. Nothing is gained by freely retransmitting the propaganda for them.

It's basically the Southern Way of saying "Go fuck yourself".

It is also used for the equivelant of "you dumb fuck"

Agreed... it just makes Southerners look like pussies

Oh bless your heart. It's southern attempt at civility. Makes the other person sound like a jerk if they reply "well fuck you too". Like a retail employee smiling, thanking you, and wishing you a nice day after you were rude and yelled at them.

Unlike Canadians that are actually polite, we're just passive aggressively being assholes.

I actually don't know of anyone down here who actually says "bless your heart." I'm sure some old people do, but I don't even think my grandparents say that.

We actually have a local mortgage company that has used the phrase in commercials for over 20 years. Something like "are you still renting? Bless your heart."
