It didn't get much attention last week because of the upcoming elections, but did anyone hear about Trump's secret Executive Order to allow Noal Francisco to take over Justice despite blatant conflicts of interest?

Is this Trump trying to kill the Russia investigation before the Dems get the House, or is the timing just coincidental?

I'm going to be generous and say coincidental.

The Grand KKKeebler Elf was a goner after the midterms anyway regardless of the result in the House.

Sessions is such a cuck I am surprised he isn't licking Scott Walker right now.

You’re being way too generous.

I'm fairly certain that the investigation is substantially complete anyway.  He may not fire Mueller outright, but the DoJ may now tell him that he's gotta "wrap it up".

So Sessions certainly wins his old seat back in 2020?

Luther Strange has encouraged him to run.

It's a good thing "for cause" isn't an entirely subjective standard that can mean anything some partisan hack wants it to mean.

Edit: Time to dust off those old Trump golf course dues!

even if Trump/acting AG or anyone else ends the Mueller investigation the House can just start it up again with all the same investigators in January

I have several bridges to sell you if you’re interested. I also have this lovely bag of beans for sale, they’re magic, I swear.

I don't think this is entirely true. The House can investigate, but I don't think they can get access to anything Mueller already compiled. So for instance, if someone previously cooperated they could now refuse to cooperate.

But surely there is the collection of evidence (documents, tapes, data, etc) that cannot be simply destroyed by the Administration?

If Mueller delivers his report and materials to Congress they can just hand it back to him when they rehire him.

I mean it's not like Mueller is some amateur, I'm sure he's been preparing for this possibility.
