With the only winning bets on the Feature Game separating them from the pack, our current top 2 battled for the #1 spot going into week 9 with Greatoneshere coming out ahead!  But his grasp on the throne is tenuous as only $500 sits between him and the nearest challenger!  Can he hang on?

 
 -= WEEK 8 RESULTS =-

Feature Game: The Texans easily covered the Dolphins' +7, winning 42-(30).  Bets on Houston win.  Only Alpha1Cowboy and Greatoneshere hit their bets on the Week 8 Feature Game!

 

Questions:

1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Dolphins TD, Dolphins FG, Dolphins safety, Texans TD, Texans FG, Texans safety, or other? ($1,500 for the correct call)
Kenyan Drake ran off right for a 12 yard rushing TD to kick off the scoring in the Feature Game. Guesses for a 'phins TD get it.  Keyser_Soze and mikechorney were the only players to call this one.

 

2) Yes or no - Will either defense score in the feature game?  ($1,000 for the correct call)
Nooooope.

 

3) Name the QB playing on SUNDAY that will throw the most interceptions. ($1,500 for the right answer)
Oh, Jameis.  That was brutal.  Bets on Winston to stink up the joint win. Biggie and RedSoxFan9 both saw the badness coming.

 

4) London Calling - Who wins the coin toss at Wembley on Sunday, Philly or Jacksonville? ($1,000 for the correct guess)
Jacksonville won the toss and deferred.

 

5) Call the winners:
Seattle at Detroit
Indianapolis at Oakland
San Francisco at Arizona
($1,200 for EACH correctly named game winner, $2,500 bonus if you call all 3 correct)

While several players called a mix of these games, only SFLUFAN got all 3 correct to earn the bonus cash.

 

6) Sad crowds: How many home teams lose in week 8? ($2,500 for the correct answer)
The Bills, Vikings, Raiders, Lions, Giants, and Jags all failed to defend their homes (and in the Jags' case, their home away from home).  Bets on 6 win.

 

7) Name the rusher that will have the single longest run in Week 8. ($2,500 for the right name)
Adrian Peterson broke the Giants' back on a 64 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter to effectively ice the game and to tally the longest run of Week 8. Slug and Kal-El814 were the only players to call AP's number.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in Week 6. ($4,000 for each player named correctly, $9,000 bonus if both names are called) 

Adrian Peterson showed his inner Riggins, tromping along for 149 yards while Mike Evans did his best in a losing effort, hauling in 179 through the air.  Slug was the only player to call AP and nobody called Evans (no bonus awarded).

-= THE RULES =-

1. You make your bet and answer the questions simply by posting on the thread each week with your pick for the featured game along with your bet, followed by your answers to the prediction questions.

2. Everyone starts with $1,000. If a user doesn't start until week 3, they still start with $1,000. Your best bet it to get in early and play every week.

3. If you somehow reach $0 you are not out of the competition. You can't bet on the feature game during weeks that you are broke, but you can answer the prediction questions and hope to earn cash to gamble the following week.

4. IMPORTANT: I will set a deadline for getting your entries for the week in (usually before kick-off of that week's first game). It is imperative that you make your post before the deadline. The entry thread will be locked at the deadline so if you don't get your entry in by then you lose out on the chance to make money that week.

5. I work full time AND coach youth football AND go to school when I can AND have a near crippling gaming addiction AND probably drink too much. Responsibilities and personality flaws allowing, I will attempt to post the results and the next week's game/questions each Tuesday, as early as possible. Keep in mind though that there may be some wackiness here and there based on my schedule and hangovers. Pay attention.

6. For the official recording of stats/yardage NFL.com will be used. Whatever their site says on Tuesday morning is what counts.  No whining.

8. Accounts created within the current calendar month are not eligible to play and any entries from such accounts will not be considered.
