Nintendo is just keeping a tight lip on this so that consumers buy more Switch shit this holiday.

 

Switch 2 will most likely ship late June 2025 if I had to guess.

I've seen that tossed around with no real source other than someone's ass.

 

As someone who kinda recently played FF9 so I could get mad about the changes they are making, I've seen no good reason why they should remake FF9. No one played the first game. The story has far too many similarities to FF4. All the characters suck except for Steiner and Vivi. The Art and Music are the only things that the game has going for it and it will be ruined with modern non-stylized graphics and weak orchestra music that lacks paunchiness.

 

The only passable reason I've seen as to why FF9 should be remade is to flesh out the shittier characters like the ugly rat and punch guy. But still, who is the audience for this game? It's not that I'm actually against it being remade, I just don't see how SE would think this was a good idea. FF16 and FF7R2 didn't sell horribly or anything, but they sure weren't the massive successes SE was hoping for. I guess if they have a cheapo remake planned like the "of Mana" ones then maybe it's worth it, but it doesn't seem worth it overall.

I kind of agree. I bought FF9 day one because I was all in on PS1 Final Fantasies back in the day. When I beat it, I remember feeling... kinda empty lol. I wasn't satisfied, I didn't really like the characters. I wasn't a fan of the class system. I hated that the MC was a furry. Nothing about that game had me like "hell yeah! that was awesome." It's the only FF I never went back and played again.

I've completely given up on Bethesda. Starfield was the final nail in the coffin.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a GTA 6 trailer, and probably a trailer for the next Final Fantasy 7 game. I will be shocked if Half Life 3 is actually announced. If Valve was any other company, I'd expect Half Life 1 & 2 remasters, but the way that company is structured I doubt they'll ever do it.

 

Nintendo announcing the Switch 2 at anyone else's event also seems unlikely to me.
