I don’t know about anything like that (since ‘refusing’ is a bit loaded) but Waffle House famously stays open through inclement weather, to the point where local authorities often gauge their response based on what Waffle House does. I think they even have their own weather crew in-house.

Dre801
Quite windy and rainy here in Clearwater, and every major bridge is now closed(the Skyway is usually the first to go once the wind picks up). Anyway, it's mainly just tropical storm like conditions for me here on the west coast.

Spawn_of_Apathy
Hey Florida Republicans, the hurricane news is a hoax. Don’t let your weenie government try to take your freedoms by closing bridges or tell you to evacuate. You go outside. Show America you won’t cower over some liberal scientists “predictions”. Drive on that bridge. Do it several times just to make a point. This is all just a ploy to replace you with pro-Castro Cuban plants to take your homes and jobs with the blessing of the Democrats. So run to the shores and yell at those boats coming in from Cuba disguised as clouds. Take your guns and shoot this “hurricane” to defend your home and family. 1 1 1

Tennessee has hills and canyons that channel the water in ways that make flash flooding so much worse.
