Remedy and Annapurna announce a strategic cooperation agreement on Control 2 and bringing Control and Alan Wake to film and television

Remedy is thrilled (as thrilled as Finnish people can be) to announce that we are working together with Annapurna, who are co-financing the development of Control 2 and taking the Control and Alan Wake franchises to film, TV and beyond.

What does that mean for you, our dear fans? Above all it means Remedy is able to make Control 2 exactly the game we want it to be, while we now also have an incredible partner to extend our IPs to other mediums. We are also going to be publishing Control 2 ourselves. When I look at all the games we have in the pipeline, the future of Remedy is incredibly exciting. You can trust us to keep bringing you incredible video game experiences.

The Control 2 development team is working full steam ahead on the game. We know you are eager for news on the game (and Condor!), but you are going to have to wait a while for that.

Eeeeeehhhh.  Those little vignettes and shows are fun because they’re brief interludes in something else.  They’re charming because their quality is almost incidental to the thing you’re playing.  I have serious doubts about this working in traditional tv context, but I’d love to be wrong.

I mean, Alan Wake is basically Twin Peaks and Alan Wake 2 is basically Twin Peaks mixed with some heavy noir and True Detective. It absolutely lends itself to TV in a limited series format. Control has a lot of world building so that could be a full blown TV show.
