Can you still hear mosquitos?

I remember being a kid and being told after like 24 I wouldn't be able to hear mosquitos due to the natural hearing loss humans experience as they age. Just something that popped into my head as I'm nursing my hangover with a mosquito annoyingly buzzing in my ear that I can definitely hear at the ripe age of 37.

Damn right I still can!

Now, actually seeing the bastards is another story entirely!

I saw four swarming my legs last night and smashed em all with claps! Felt like a damn super hero!

And, hot damn, the pesky one bothering me made the mistake of landing on my hand while I typed this out and not moving while I got my other hand in firing position. Another sucker down!

Mosquitoes are actually pretty rare (inside of homes or away from bodies of water at least) around here, so I have no idea! They've never really been a problem I've had to think about, which I am extremely thankful for because that shit would drive me nuts!

Remember June bugs? You never see them anymore.

Once in a blue moon they show up, but otherwise this is true. And I'm reminded of it every summer because I thank whatever god or deity will listen to me that my front porch isn't flooded with June bugs like they were a sign of the apocalypse.
