crispy4000
Many of Epic's exclusivity deals were 'not good investments,' says Tim Sweeney, but the free games program 'has been just magical' | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM The most cost-effective way to get new users on the Epic Games Store has been the free games, not the exclusives. Commissar SFLUFAN
Sure - the free games "got" me to EGS. It doesn't mean that I actually purchased a bloody thing, but it got me there! So, "Mission Accomplished", Tim Epic!
Keyser_Soze
I don't even have the launcher installed and sometimes claim the games on the website. Magical indeed.
Bacon
I only installed the launcher to play the Mortal Shell demo. Uninstalled it and never took advantage of the free games. Glad the free games shit worked out for the devs. Fuck EGS.

There’s times when those dropped prices well below historical averages. For certain AAA games that never seem to go under $15-20 bucks, that I don’t care about specific Steam features for, I can be swayed. I also don’t mind buying anything Ubisoft (or EA?) on there. It’s launcher inception for their games on Steam regardless, might as well buy where it’s cheapest. So it’s worked on me on some level. I’m more interested in their big sales than GoG’s. Yup I mostly get on Steam but occasionally the $10 coupon deal gets me as well. Getting a free game every week means I see those sales when they are live too. AbsolutSurgen
I normally buy games wherever they’re cheapest. The EGS launcher is fine. The only games I make sure to get a Steam Key for are those I plan to play on Steam Deck. I buy most of my Ubi stuff from their store. I really don’t get the preference for Steam.
